Hi, I'm Winnie Bear, a charming 7-year-old Basset Hound/Beagle mix. I came to my rescue family in rough shape, but now I'm thriving! After some proper food, exercise, and hydrotherapy, I can not only walk but run without any pain meds. I'm down to 36.5 lbs and getting closer to my ideal weight of 32-33 lbs. My skin and fur are back to normal, and I’m a happy girl.
I love following my people around the house and can’t wait for belly rubs. I especially enjoy basking in the sun or chilling in the shade, taking in all the smells, so a fenced-in yard is a must for me. I'm not a digger and get along great with small and large dogs, as well as cats. I would also be happy as the queen of the castle, getting all the attention.
I walk well on a leash with short walks in the coolest part of the day, though I do like to stop and smell along the way. My favorite toys are Benebones, antlers, squeaky toys, and rope toys. Plushies don't last long with me! I ride perfectly in a car and do well at bath time. I'm very treat-motivated, know the “sit” command, am house-trained, not destructive, and sleep soundly in my bed beside my foster parents.
My perfect forever home will have people experienced with hounds who can help me reach my weight loss goal. Since my short legs make it hard to get in and out of the car, I need someone who can lift me. I also take an inexpensive thyroid pill and a daily Glucosamine Chondroitin supplement.

One of our Lucky Dog Swim Fund recipients is up for adoption🥹🏡🥰 We love Winnie! Good Luck on finding your forever home❤️ You can swim with us anytime!
Winnie, aka Winnie Bear, is an approx. 7yo possible Basset Hound/Beagle mix. This sweet girl came to our rescue as an owner surrender to a shelter, depressed, severely obese at 46 lbs., could barely walk and her skin was a mess. Our vet determined, besides her obesity, she could possibly have a cruciate tear in her back right knee. After 12 weeks of proper food, exercise including hydrotherapy, she not only walks but also runs. She is down to 38 lbs, with her ideal weight being around 32-33 lbs. Her skin has drastically improved and she’s now a happy girl.
She loves following her people around the house, and can’t wait for belly rubs, but she especially enjoys basking in the sun or chilling in the shade, taking in all the smells, so for that reason we are requiring a fenced-in yard for her. She is not a digger.
Winnie is currently in a home with small and larger dogs, as well as a cat and gets along great with all. She would also do well as the queen of her castle getting all the attention. She walks well on leash with short walks in the coolest part of the day with her short stubby legs, but be prepared for many stops to smell along the way. Her favorite toy is a Benebone or an antler, and squeaky toys and rope toys; but plushies get destroyed in no time. She rides perfectly in a car and does well at bath time. Winnie is VERY treat motivated, knows “sit” command, is house trained, is not destructive, and sleeps in her bed throughout the night. She has the hound dog “bay” which she excitedly sounds off while her meals are being prepared.

She does need someone who is able to pick her up since she can not get in and out of the car on her own. ✨Throwback Thursday✨ circa 2017-2018
When it all started☁️I began my canine hydrotherapy journey in early 2017 & became certified in early 2018. Prior to the creation of Dip’n Dogs, I worked as a hydrotherapist for a local business, then soon after decided to venture off on my own🚀
Dip’n Dogs was born out of love, passion & and drive for growth in the Orlando canine hydrotherapy community. I started off working as many hours as possible, which also included traveling to clients homes for “in-home therapy swims”🚙💦As time went on and Dip’n Dogs became more known, I was able to commit all of my time & work to our home based pool in Winter Park🎉
Canine Hydrotherapy then blossomed into adding & offering more services. Swim lessons for dogs became a very sought after service which was ideal for dogs who either feared the water, needed to learn the basic techniques of swimming and/or for pet owners looking to ensure that their dogs were calm, comfortable & confident swimmers in any body of water🩵 Fun/Fitness swimming was also an additional service we opened up. For dogs who love to swim, or multiple doggie friends who want to come & have a pool playdate to have fun in the water together🥳
It’s been a fulfilling, fun & successful 7.5 years! Aside from our swim services, The Lucky Dog Swim Fund was created as a means for us to give back & help local dogs in need through water therapy❤️🩹this fund has given us the opportunity to host yearly events for the Orlando dog community & bring people together through hydrotherapy for dogs🥲 we would be nothing without our amazing clients & supporters🫶🏻& we absolutely love helping your dogs thrive in the pool, however that may look for them. Whether it be physical therapy, swim lesson safety or just plain ol’ fun/fitness cool off by the pool swimming😎we invite you to consider joining our swim family!🥰

Welcome Oakley🍀she started her Lucky Dog swims with us to help her lose weight and regain her mobility. Oakley was diagnosed with severe hypothyroidism & is severely overweight. She can barely walk & is in constant pain. We are looking forward to seeing her heal through hydrotherapy, medication, diet and lots of extra love & support 🩷our goal is to provide her with better quality of life & necessary comfort during this process since Oakley needs to lose about 45lbs🫶🏻

Dip’n Dogs is located in Orlando, FL and was founded by Rachel Haggerty. Rachel is fully trained in Canine Hydrotherapy and completed her Hydrotherapy certification through the Canine Fitness Institute. Rachel still continues her studies on hydrotherapy to bring the best quality of service possible to her clients and their dog(s). Dip’n Dogs provides swim therapy to dogs with disabilities, dogs who are obese, dogs who have/had injury and(or) need surgery rehabilitation, dogs fighting degenerative diseases, dogs with arthritis, aging dogs and dogs who need overall fitness or increased mobility. Every swim is customized to fit each dog and their needs. We provide (house calls) in-home hydrotherapy and outdoor hydrotherapy at our home pool.
Rachel began her canine health and canine hydrotherapy practice in May of 2017. She has a passion for the caring and healing of animals, which is why hydrotherapy is her primary focus. Rachel started her journey at Rocky’s Retreat, Orlando’s only canine health and fitness center. She gives all of her credit and appreciation to it’s former owners, Sherri Cappabianca and Toby Gass. They are experts in the hydrotherapy field and they both have given her the opportunity to do what she loves as well as taught her everything she knows about canine care. Rachel is also the proud owner and dog mom to her two beagles, Leo and Lola.
