Crazy broody hen

I had TWO eggs hatch from different hens today so two new babies and more on the way 😬🤫

1) A young blue whiterump male

2) A reddish silver that Im not 100% of the color mutation, possible hen.

3) Wild type

4) Silver whiterump

5) Newly hatched today baby, light color. Sibling to the reddish silver mutation and possibly the same color. (2 more eggs in her nest cause shes a crazy broody hen right now)

Three babies pipped, but one passed overnight. That leaves two unrelated babies from different clutches so far, if they continue to do well and make it. The obe from yesterday is big and strong so hopefully itll continue to thrive. 💔🥰💜

Two pieces of news:

I have lost one of my beloved hens, there were no symptoms and she was just gone from the time it took me to do yard work. Im terribly saddened. 😔

I have welcomed a family of Zebra Finches and my one lone male will have some new friends. I will be letting a few of the babies go when they are old enough and once I decide which ones will stay. I have a mated pair and some of their offspring. Theyre also extremely tame which is cool.

4 babies went to their new home today 🥰🥰 I have 4 more babies and a new clutch of eggs, and it appears I have a new male courting my 1yr old hen I held back last winter, so we will see how that progresses. If they do pair up, that makes a 6th pair! Im so excited, that hen is one of my favorites.

Hen 1 yr old

Remember a baby I kept this last winter? Here she is coming up on a year old, now a gorgeous hen. Shes still as tame and sweet as ever. This is how I raise my babies 🥰

I have one baby that hatched this round, the other egfs either didnt hatch or two of them died right after hatch 😔 I do not have anyone lined up for a single baby. Is anyone wanting one as a tame companion? It would be an excellent companion bird.
