Cedar Creek Animal Clinic was established in January of 2008 by Dr. John Holcomb, an ISU gradutate, who has practiced veterinary medicine in the area since 1995. CCAC is a full service small and large animal facilty that provides on site care with farm calls and has a doctor on call to provide emergency care 24 hours a day. We also have boarding facilities, with outdoor play areas for dogs, and o

We will be CLOSING at noon tomorrow for New Year's Eve and will be CLOSED on Wednesday to ring in the New Year. If you have an animal EMERGENCY while we are CLOSED and need to reach our veterinarian on call - dial 515-462-3200. Our staff will be back in the clinic on Thursday the 2nd at 7am.

Just in time for Christmas....we have added another position within our animal health care team and are looking for a FULLTIME veterinary / clinic assistant. Job duties will include assisting our veterinarians with daily tasks, caring for our patients, administrative assistant duties such as customer service and data entry; being willing to help other team members as needed and general clinic cleaning duties. If you love animals, are hard working, dependable, willing to learn new things and want to have fun while working with an amazing team, CONTACT US TODAY! Hours will include some weekends. Today we celebrate Stan. He has been part of our team for 11 years. His favorite thing about working here is the people. His favorite job duty as a veterinarian is first puppy visits. He enjoys meeting the all of the cute puppies and then advising the owners how to properly care for and train the new members of their family. Outside of work his favorite things to do are play trivia and go fishing. It is FROSTEE's FRIDAY so we are having ice cream to celebrate!!!

Our staff appreciation days go all week...Today is Jake's day! Jake joined our team almost 3 years ago and helps with our large animals here in the clinic and on the farm. His favorite things about working here are the people that he works with and working with cattle. Outside of work he likes to be outside hunting, playing with his dog, Petey, and spending time with his fiancé, Emily.
Jake is sharing his day with our other Emma, who we posted about last week. She was on vacation last week so she missed out. She picked lunch from Olive Garden to celebrate today!

Today is Emma's day!!! She picked out Cheesecake Factory for her celebration lunch today. Emma has been part of our team for a year and a half. Her favorite thing about working here is seeing animals that don't feel well come in and then leave feeling better. Outside of work she enjoys hanging out with her dogs, cat and rabbit; spending time with family and helping them with various tasks; and watching movies.

This guy is NACHO normal vet clinic greeter. He was scooting by the clinic this morning. Speaking of NACHO...we celebrated John today, who is NACHO average Boss! He was gone last week so we had a belated party with a NACHO bar. He has provided veterinary care for animals in our area since 1995. He has established a practice where all of his staff enjoy working together as a team to provide the best care for animals and to establish long lasting relationships with their great owners. Outside of work, John enjoys spending time on the farm with his cattle; training, hunting and competing with his 3 German Shorthair Pointers; watching the Iowa State Cyclones and spending time with family fishing and hunting.

Our staff appreciation continues on for another week! Today we celebrate Autumn! She has been on our team since June. She is a senior at WHS and plans on attending Simpson college for her pre-veterinary requirements. Her favorite thing about working at CCAC is the staff - she loves working with each of them. She also enjoys observing surgeries. Her favorite thing to do at work is to assist with our Lucky Paws of Madison County spay and neuter cat clinic on Thursday mornings. Outside of work she likes to cuddle with her cat; stay involved with school activities, one of which is the Student Council, where she is the current President; and she also enjoys reading.

Emma is one of our awesome assistants. She has been with our team for 2 years. Outside of work she enjoys spending time outdoors hiking and gardening, spending time with her husband and family, reading and ren faires. She has 2 dogs, 2 cats and many chickens.

Today we celebrate Kelley! She has been with us for 8 years and is a Registered Veterinary Technician. Her favorite thing about working here is sharing her days with our team, caring for the animals and making them feel better, and helping with surgeries. Outside of work she enjoys hanging out with her family, including her daughter, Charlotte, who loves going on bike rides, and spending time friends. She plays volleyball, trivia and puzzle challenges and likes spending time at the lake swimming and boating.

Bob reminded Mitzi that this week is VET TECH week and we need to celebrate our staff!!!!
Mitzi has worked with John for 24 years and enjoys her role as manager of the clinic. The thing she loves about her job is that what she does helps make a difference in the lives of animals and their owners. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends; her 3 dogs Bob, Suzi and Karma; being outdoors, fishing and gardening; traveling and training and showing dogs. She has earned many titles with her dog, Karma, in AKC Obedience, Rally and Agility. Karma and Suzi have both been certified with Therapy Dogs International, and Bob is currently taking classes and practicing so that they can compete in AKC Obedience, Rally and Agility. Mitzi is the Superintendent for the Madison County 4-H dog and cat departments and the leader of the newly formed 4-H club - the Madison County Bark Brigade.

We also would like to WELCOME Autumn to our team! She is our other PAWSOME boarding assistant who started at the clinic in June. She will be a senior at WHS this fall, has 2 cats-Binx and Bruno, and loves the fall because that is when she is the busiest.
