I started grooming right out of high school. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do for a living, but working with pets sounded like a great idea while I figured it out. A few months later I was certified as a professional groomer from the Kenosha School of Pet Grooming. I moved to Milwaukee and got a job working at two shops owned by Julie Krizan, gaining valuable experience from each. A while later, I moved back to Kenosha and was employed by my former teacher before going to another shop for a short time. After this, I tried a couple other types of jobs, but soon realized that working with animals was my passion. Starting as a receptionist at The Harbor Animal Hospital, some time later Dr. Bartlett agreed to let me set up a grooming shop to service his clientele. Over the years, the shop grew to the point that I needed to be on my own, and Bow Wows and Meows was born. Although my business has undergone many changes, one thing remains the same, I love pampering your pets!
