Raising Quality Range Ready Charolais for Over 40 Years! Welcome to our Ranch!

Chewack River Ranch, home of Lundgren Charolais, is located six miles North of Winthrop, Washington. We have been raising Quality purebred Charolais cattle for over 40 years. Today, we run 120 Charolais cows and 100 head of commercial cattle. For over 40 years, Lundgren Charolais have been breeding and selecting for valuable basic traits with the aid of harsh Northern Cascade winters and dry arid

summer conditions. We select for structural soundness, smooth shoulders for calving ease, ease of fleshing, and fertility. Our purebred Charolais run on mountain pasture from early spring to late fall on steep rugged Forest Service grazing allotments in the Cascade mountain range. Cow calf pairs travel in elevation ranges from 2000-6500 feet, foraging on native bunch grass until snow covers the ground in late fall. Our females are tough and hardy with a sound athletic body structure and added maternal performance. Our calves are not pampered or creep fed and their weaning weights are straight from the cow fresh off the mountain side.
