Huck and Sawyer got to explore the back yard yesterday and made sure to sniff and check out every inch of the yard!! Santa ain't got nothing on these two beagles because they checked it more than twice!! These two pint size pups are absolutely adorable!!
*Huck, more brown beagle, is 4.5 years old and already neutered.
*Sawyer, more white beagle, is estimated to be around 2 years old. We're waiting to get him a vet appointment for neuter.
Kira is everything a puppy should be; energetic, friendly, fun, eager to learn and absolutely unwilling to sit still for photos!! We've only managed to get a couple pictures of her that weren't just a blur! Kira is spending Christmas with PAWS this year but is ready to hang her stocking up next year with a family of her own!
Bronx wants to wish everyone a happy Sunday!!
Our shy, reserved, little Sawyer is definitely coming out of his shell! This fella loves to play with other dogs but as you can see, has no problem entertaining himself!! Sawyer has to be neutered before he can be adopted so he'll be ringing in the new year with paws but he'd love to attend the rest of your family gatherings!!
Sometimes we wish we knew what our dogs' lives were like before coming to PAWS. Many have never had their own collars or been walked on leash. We're unsure of Noel's past but it doesn't really matter. Her present is being spent with us eating good food and learning new things to prepare her for the future she deserves!!
Lucky's family was heartbroken when they surrendered him to Animal Control but due to their health issues, frequent doctor visits and having to leave him home so often, they decided it was best for him. Fortunately, they sent his food, toys, blankets, etc with him to help him adjust. He was very unsure of our volunteer until she brought out his harness. He then ran right up to her and picked up the leash with his mouth as if to say, LET'S GO! Once he relaxes, he's a very cuddly boy. Lucky won't be ready until some time in January so he'll be celebrating the holidays with us. Welcome to PAWS Lucky!!
Bronx enjoyed some ice cream today!
Good morning from Bronx!! Our big teddy bear is on the mend and we couldn't be more thankful!!
The benefits of a peanut butter filled kong:
•Helps Noel gain some needed weight
•Helps Noel bond with people
•They're delicious and fun!
We picked up Huck from the vet today after his neuter. They all commented on how adorable and sweet he is! Huck should be ready to go home in the next couple weeks!!
So our boy Bronx went from being an extremely picky eater who would turn his nose up to most treats, food combinations, etc to helping himself to more dry food!! He was on appetite stimulants for a few days but we've been able to take him off those and he's still eating! He's enjoyed several treats that he refused just a month ago. We're optimistic that he is on his way to a clean bill of health!!
Bronx wanted to let everyone know that he is finally on the road to recovery! He's feeling much better and his weight hasn't dropped for the first time in several weeks. He still has to regain several pounds but we're gradually working on that. Thanks for all the positive vibes!!
