We did our first pop up grooming day with our good friend and dog training friend Lyra a couple weeks ago. Lyra is beginning her grooming business and did an excellent job with the first crew of dogs!

She will be coming back to do another pop up grooming August 30-September 2nd. She will have availability to groom all 3 days. $50 per dog includes a bath, desired trim and nail trim.

Meet Merlin!

Last (born) but definitely not least, Merlin has consistently been the biggest pup. He is living his new life with a very experienced setter couple that is new to hunting! We are excited to hear about all they learn in the coming years!

Meet Sloane!

Sloane went to live and learn to hunt from his Uncle Finn (Willow’s brother) and Great Uncle Hickory (Willow’s uncle). He will be hunting in the woods and the prairie very soon!

Meet Winnie!

Winnie went to her new home in Duluth last weekend! She was welcomed home by a crew of kids and a family that wants to do more grouse hunting. I can’t think of a better life for a setter pup!

We look forward to hearing about their adventures together!

Meet Lace! (Or Lacey)

Lace is a spunky little girl that is going to stick around for a while and is staying very local! She is going to get to hunt in the woods and the prairies.

We are so excited to see her grow up and learn about hunting from her Uncle Leather.

Meet Cash!

Cash is our orange ear boy. He is staying local but won’t go to his new home for a little while. He is a spunky little guy and will spend his time hunting both the woods and the prairie!

Meet Corky!

Corky is going to live with his dad Riley. He is staying local and we are excited to watch him development and hear hunting reports!

Fun fact we had 3 colors produced in this litter: blue belton, orange belton and tri color. Corky was the only tri color!

Meet Bell!

Bell headed off to her new home in Minnesota this morning. She will be raised with a great family and still be snuggled by kids. She will have lots of opportunities to hunt as well!

As hard as it is to let these guys go, it makes it so much easier when we are sending them to great people!

We are doing our best to introduce something new to these little guys every day. Today was an introduction into the big kennels among the other dogs. I would say they adjusted well!

I wasn’t about to tell Cash he can’t carry a toy while check cording. That might be for when he is 5 months old. Our Willow x Riley pups turned 4 months old yesterday and the majority of them have already had the opportunity to see wild birds. We are so excited to hear about their first hunting seasons!

The first 4 days of Wild Bird Camp are in the books. Plenty of birds, good dog work and thick cover 🫣 We are excited to see dogs develop in the next several weeks.

✅ Socialized with older dogs We talk a lot about pack behavior. The puppies have spent the last couple of weeks learning how to interact with the greater pack at my house (1-9 year old dogs). I have a couple dogs that will gently correct them and the pups have learned to respect the other dogs but still play and have fun with them. They have had an environment to safely learn how to interact with dogs bigger than them.

Just like that the pups are 7 weeks old! Next weekend they start heading to new homes.

5 weeks!

We had a very successful weekend training dogs. Everyone who came for the Intermediate Seminar had put in time and effort to prep their dogs for the weekend and it showed. Thank you to everyone who helped and participated! We couldn’t do this without the dog training community! See you all in June at the Foundation Seminar!
