For anyone thinking of adding a puppy, please be aware of the unscrupulous breeders out there trying to convince you their crossbreds are purebred. They have to lie to AKC to register these dogs. There is no such thing as a purebred silver, charcoal or champagne Lab. Also be aware the dd (dilute) gene that causes this color not only doesn't exist within the Labrador breed, it comes with skin issues. Dilute alopecia is an awful condition and no dog should have to suffer with it.

Female spayed Chessie available, placing her on behalf of her owner. She is a total sweetheart, great family dog and has training, loves to retrieve and likes birds. Anybody looking for a nice young GWP, I have one here who needs a home. He's had some training here, likes his birds and is pointing. 7 months old. He needs a calm home with no small children. The sun on my cottonwood tree this morning was just breathtaking. All the vivid golds and greens and reds of fall are nothing short of amazing. Flocks of sandhill cranes flying overhead with their loud call, and I'm even going to forgive the red squirrel chattering at me from the pine next to the kennel building. It gets a pass today. CC here

These are the kind of pics I love to get this time of year. Young Izzy here isn't quite a year old. She was quite the wild child when she came here for training. Those of you who were at my Ladies Workshop last month will remember that I used her as a demo dog. This picture is of her first wild birds killed over her, a double on a pair of huns. Steady to wing, shot and fall, she then made the retrieves. Izzy is an exceptionally talented youngster...I might even say brilliant. But she needed a firm hand as her education started, and an owner dedicated to making this first real hunting experience a success. Her talents are way above average and more than I usually expect from a dog this young.

LOL...gotta love an enthusiastic breakaway. Wheeee!! Pudelpointer Dag and his owner had their first trip out on the Buena Vista prairie today and did a great job. Had one wild flush and four solid points on prairie chickens. We weren't out for long in this heat, but it was a productive half hour.

Please, folks...keep your dogs inside and don't let them out without being on a leash during "fireworks season". It's midnight on July 3rd and I just got a call from a few states away that a dog I bred was just picked up.

While every dog I raise here is microchipped, that doesn't help unless a vet or shelter is involved.

Make sure YOUR name and contact information is on the tag so if your dog is lost the finder knows who to call. In this case I knew the owner and state and recognized them easily so could connect them with the finder. This dog still had my number on the collar, which is why the finder called me, and I'm glad they did.
