Fear Free
Courtney Marie Rodriguez Ollie had a stress-free visit last week. Who cares about having their ears checked when there are mice to catch?
Here's a pup that won't mind the next nail trim. What a happy visit!

Ernie the Ear Mite
Aw, isn't it cute! This is a chubby little ear mite. The running commentary is from Mighty Matt, one of our Certified Veterinary Technicians. If you listen closely you'll hear him say something about "cocci"--he's describing the shape of the bacteria he's seeing. Small numbers of bacteria in the ear are normal, but they can overgrow and cause problems when there are mites present.
Scooter
This little guy is SUCH a character! He was born with some hind limb deformities and had to wear splints for awhile, but our little bow-legged cowboy friend is a happy boy with an enormous personality. We love our Scooter-butt!
Scooter the Bionicle
This is Scooter. He was born with some rear limb deformities, and his family has worked hard to get him to a functional level of mobility. He is the most charming kitty you'd ever want to meet!
Spring is a time for fleas and ticks to start becoming a problem again! So far none of the products on the market have been completely fool-proof, but the companies keep trying. Nexgard and Bravecto have both working well for us so far. Give us a call if you'd like to learn more about them!
Spring has sprung, and that means that the mosquitoes will be flying again soon! As you know, mosquitoes can transmit heartworms to our pets, so it's time to stock up on preventatives. We've got a monthly chew treat that is hypoallergenic and prevents intestinal parasites as well as heartworms. If you are one of the 49% that can't remember to give a monthly preventative, don't worry: we've got you covered with a 6 month injectable!
The therapy laser is treatment that is similar to the ultrasound therapy that physical therapists use on their human patients (ultrasound penetrates deeper than light, and people tend to be thicker than dogs and cats, hence the difference). It has many applications, but the three we use it for the most are 1) speeding healing after surgery, 2) helping ease the pain of degenerative joint disease ("arthritis"), and 3) helping patients recover from orthopedic injuries. We are not the only clinic in town to offer this service, so if you are interested, please contact your veterinarian!
