A bat in a neighboring county has recently tested positive for rabies, which serves as an important reminder to keep pets up to date on their rabies vaccinations and avoid contact with wildlife whenever possible.
Rabies is a fatal disease that can affect both animals and humans, and bats are one of the most common wildlife carriers in Wisconsin. Even indoor pets can be at risk if a bat enters the home.

We’re seeing it firsthand; parasite risks are increasing, even in our area. Ticks and mosquitoes are spreading disease beyond the “typical” seasons, which means pets are at risk longer than ever. Keeping your pet on prevention year-round helps protect them every day, not just in summer.

🌷As the weather warms up, we’re already seeing an increase in ticks, and with them, tick-borne diseases in our area. In fact, 1 in 8 dogs tested so far this year have already been positive for anaplasmosis in Wisconsin, which we’re seeing more frequently than any other tick-borne disease.🌷
