Great News! We would like to annouce and welcome our new Doctor to the team..Dr. Rachel! We are so excited to have her! She will be working with us as well as Metro Animal Hospital. With this addition we will be able to start accommodating seeing patients on Thursdays again starting in October! Below is a message from Dr. Rachel to help get to know her:

"Hi! I am Dr. Rachael Saeger, the newest addition to the teams at Metro Animal Hospital and Wittenberg Veterinary Clinic. My husband, Tim, and I just recently moved to the Merrill, WI area and are taking over his family’s homestead. I grew up in Las Vegas, NV before moving to Spokane, WA for my undergraduate studies, where I studied Biology at Whitworth University. I then attended vet school at the University of Minnesota, graduating in 2020. I previously worked at two small animal clinics in Minnesota, focusing on preventative care, as well as exotic animal medicine. I have particularly strong interests in animal behavior, dentistry, nutritional therapy, and aquatic animal medicine. At home, Tim and I have four kitties (Atticus, Gus, Checkers, and Otis), as well as an aquarium. We are hoping to start up a bit of a homestead/hobby farm in the next couple of years where the animal menagerie will continue."

!!Attention for Thursday, August 24th, 2023!!!

As some of you may saw, with a previous post, with losing a Doctor at the end of July we have had to close down appointments on Thursdays until further notice but usually someone is here to answer phone calls, questions, and fill prescriptions. But due to not just a Doctor shortage but also a staff shortage we are going to be completely CLOSED this Thursday, August 24th. We will not be open again until Monday August 28th. So if you need anything please give us a call by Wednesday! We are so sorry for any inconvenience this causes. Thank you for your understanding.

We have a sad announcement to make here at Wittenberg Veterinary Clinic. After many years Dr. Frances Andersen has decided to leave the clinic for a new adventure. We thank her for her knowledge and care she has provided for the clinic in the last 18 years! Of those 18 years a lot of those were spent providing amazing dental care to our patients as that was her passion. We wish her the best of luck on her new adventure and she will be missed! Thank you Dr. Frances!

With this great loss please note that our schedule will be affected at times especially on Thursdays starting next week. Thursdays we will not be open quite as long as usual and will be available for calls, scheduling, and prescription pick up only. Unfortunately we will be unable to see patients for exams. So keep this in mind if you are noticing concerns with your pets to call as soon as possible to schedule early in the week. We will try our best to accommodate as many patients as possible Monday-Wednesday. Thank you!

Biggest issue we see after Thanksgiving weekend is vomiting and diarrhea due to pets ingesting fatty table foods from the holiday dinners so make sure to guard your trash bins and keep your Turkey dinner on the table and not in your pets belly's!

Hello everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates and quietness on the page but it amazes us on how busy we remain these days!

We did though want to keep you in the loop, and you remind you of some things and update you about some weeks coming up in September. So sorry for the long post ahead! We like a lot of places are still having some staffing constraints and we are trying our hardest but unfortunately, we are still short. Making things harder in the upcoming months is a maternity leave and our doctor who sustained an arm injury earlier this year has not improved the way she would have liked and is now in need of shoulder surgery and will be out starting in September.

So, with all that we have some things update you on. We are still Closed on Fridays until further notice. We are starting to limit the number of New Clients we can take on so you are a new client searching please note are we booking out quite a way and may not have availabilities for 8-12 weeks. We are keeping a New Client wait list that way if we have an unforeseen slower week or cancellations that cannot be filled, we can give you a call. We are trying to maintain a good amount of availability throughout the week, despite being short a doctor, for appointments as best we can but be sure to plan ahead. Try to call as soon or shortly after you receive your reminders for vaccines and annuals as we have been booking out 3-5 weeks but coming up that may become 4-6 weeks. If you are having health concerns with your pet, try to call as soon as you notice issues that way if we are booked to capacity with appointments, you can try to avoid waiting even longer to be seen after a health concern has come up.

With the Doctor out and shoulder surgery there is a week in September we are unfortunately unable to find Doctor coverage. That is the week of September 12th-15th. So, we will be closed for appointments. We will have limited hours with someone here to answer questions, direct phone calls, schedule, and be here for medication and food pick up. Hours will be Monday: 10am-5pm Tuesday: 8am-3pm Wednesday: 10am-5pm and Thursday: 8am-3pm

We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but we will continue to try our best to accommodate as many people as we can the week before and after as needed. Continue to watch our website and page as we will also try to update as best we can with any hour changes or unforeseen circumstances and such and remind you as we get closer to that week.
