Looking all chipper after a bout of mild colic last night ...Dirty Pearl and I put on some old school miles of walking, listening for gut sounds with a stethoscope, and banamine (she is not a fan) and mineral oil.
Fortunately, she's back to her old self😉
Unfortunately, I didn't lose any weight🤨

Tanquery Red Rock, aka Feathers, foaled yesterday morning, here in the pasture at home. We let her stay in our little corner with the tall grass in the shade but today I had to go have a look 😊

Haven't spent much time with the yearlings in the last couple weeks, except for quick trips where I brush them randomly while they eat.
Today I caught four of them and gave them a good spa day.
They all got detangler, feet picked out, and lots of brushing.
All four are available....plus one more who was too busy napping to get up and get to the round pen😆

In other news, Big Bonnie is sick of this..she foaled before Barons Sun Sana last year, so expected to foal first again this year🤣She's waxed up, and and has some interesting lumps so we should have a new Jinx baby tomorrow 😆

Bugsy carried Katie when she was pregnant with Riggin, and then both of them as well as Brogan before he was born. Now he is Riggin's horse, and unless Katie steals him😉

SUNS SILK

This girl is special because of her quiet sweet attitude that she has passed on to her foals. We bought her as a yearling and bred her to Jinx when she was 3. She had a gorgeous good minded filly, followed by a bay c**t by our driftwood stuff and then two more from Jinx,
Bugsy and Groceries. Both of these c**ts pack around tiny cowboys, but then can go do a job on the ranch.
We sold "Sunny" years ago, she had some bad situations, but found a soft place to land in Dillon. We were lucky to get her back, and our friends who own Groceries and Bugsy were kind enough to pick her up.
We bred her to Roll Your Nickles for 2024 foal, and can't wait to see what we get😊
She will be bred back to Jinx for 2025

"Squatch" is a 2023 red roan c**t by Jinx and out of Watch Miss Red Rock x Barons Red Rock.

He's a later foal, so has more growing to do. Still a fluffy baby, but losing hair daily, and I am so excited to see how gorgeous he will be☺️

Squatch can do all the things his bigger siblings do....
Leads well, easy to catch, stands tied, picks up all four feet, hops right in the trailer, used to dogs. Soft and willing.

He will be close to 15 when he's done growing and will be stout. We are very happy with his older brother from this cross (also available) and expect Squatch to be just as good.

Trailer loading 101 yesterday for our c**ts.
"Squish" was up first ...once he had it mastered, we turned him loose, he just got back in the trailer on his own. Had to go in, halter him and put him in a different pen so everyone else could go to trailer school. Biggest PIA ever. Love him!

Loose rope, cocked leg, and sleepy eyes...Smart Lil Seven's second time being tied. I didn't get a picture, but he was almost as good the first time.

Sweet. That's how to best describe Monroe right now. This girl is quiet, respectful, and a thinker. She's been learning all the things this week. Haltering in the open, picking up her feet and has mastered standing quietly while tied. Leads well and LOVES grooming.... especially that pesky belly 😉
