Wonderful Adoption Update!

Remember Silver, the senior mare we adopted out a few months ago? Well, we have some heartwarming news to share!

Silver is truly living her best life! Her new mom, Kara, is absolutely in love with her, and it seems like Silver has settled right into her new home. Not only that, but sheā€™s also become the boss mare of her little herd!

Kara sent us some adorable pictures and shared a hilarious story: Silver opened the door and casually walked into her house! She was super polite about itā€”just loomed around for a bit before deciding to stroll back out.

Weā€™re over the moon with joy and so grateful for updates like this! Thank you, Kara, for giving Silver such a wonderful new home. We canā€™t wait to hear more about her adventures!

Who is ready for some HUGE news?

Do you remember when the vet came to see our sheep Diesel when he had pneumonia a little while back? Well, that day something special happened between Dr. Mitch Wasko and Earl, our mule. We discovered that Dr. Wasko has rescued a few mules from various places, just like Earl, and we could see an amazing connection forming.

Guess what? Since then, Dr. Wasko has kept in touch and wanted Earl to join his small herd. After many tears (mostly happy ones and a few selfish ones), we couldnā€™t pass up the chance for Earl to have the perfect forever home. Dr. Wasko lives just 30 minutes away on over 900 beautiful acres!

Earl now has friends that are just as big as he is! Heā€™s joined the head mule, and the others are following in line behind him! He also has dog friends, gets lots of attention, and now has his very own herd. Best of all, his new dad is a veterinarian who is always there for him. Can we say spoiled? Thatā€™s exactly how we want our animals to be cherished and looked after.

** So please help us extend our love and appreciation for Earl's adoption, and congrats to you, Mitch Wasko DVM PC, for adopting such a good boy in Earl!

We'd like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Bayley and Painted Prairie Ranch for their incredible support of our BHHR rescues.

Angel is heading off for training at Painted Prairie Ranch! Weā€™re excited to see her take this step towards finding her forever family. In addition, our wonderful friend Bayley Jones is also making a difference with another one of our horses! She has played a crucial role in training our girl, Cherry, who is now pending adoption. We have complete confidence that Bayley will work her magic with Angel too, guiding her towards the perfect forever home!

A massive THANK YOU to Bayley and Painted Prairie Ranch for their unwavering commitment and expertise. We are truly appreciative of everything they do for our BHHR horses.

Good morning!

Just wanted to share a little update on our sweet Mr. Mule. Although he still has some days where he struggles to get up, which makes us worry a bit, there are also moments when he's full of life and gets into all sorts of shenanigans!

Here are a few cute and funny photos from the past week. You won't believe how much personality he has! He doesn't understand the meaning of personal spaceā€”he tries to follow Andria into the house, attempts to lay on the outdoor couch with her, and even trails Greg into his workshop, watching everything he does with great interest.

And when it comes to feeding time, let me tell you, he's a bit of a drama king! Messy? Absolutely! That's why we affectionately call him "Messy Marvin." He adores attention but will also make it clear when he wants to snoozeā€”so don't even think about waking him up!

This sweet old guy is truly living his best life. Our only regret is that we wish we had found him sooner so he could have experienced love for even longer.

A Big Thank You to Our Wonderful FARMily Friend Mary. ā¤ļø We are so grateful for the lovely pumpkins you dropped off for our critters.

Pumpkins are not only a fun fall decoration but also serve various purposes for wildlife. Here are some good uses for pumpkins in relation to wildlife:

Wildlife like deer, squirrels, raccoons, and birds enjoy eating pumpkins. You can place leftover pumpkins in your yard to provide a nutritious snack.

Composting - If you have leftover pumpkin remains, composting them can enrich your garden soil, which in turn supports local wildlife by providing a healthier ecosystem.

Natural Decor - Use pumpkins as natural decor in your garden. As they decompose, they will attract insects and other wildlife, which can be beneficial for your garden's ecosystem.

Attracting Pollinators - Carving pumpkins can also attract bees and other pollinators, especially if you leave them out to decompose.

By using pumpkins in these ways, you can help support local wildlife while also reducing waste!

Horses, donkeys, chickens, goats, and sheep can all eat pumpkin in moderation. Pumpkin is safe for these animals and can provide some nutritional benefits, such as vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Here are some considerations for each:

Horses and Donkeys- As mentioned earlier, they can enjoy pumpkin but should only have it in small amounts. Make sure it is fresh and free from mold.

Chickens can eat pumpkin, including the flesh, seeds, and even the skin. It can be a fun treat and a good source of nutrients.

Both goats and sheep can also eat pumpkin. It can be a nutritious addition to their diet, but again, it should be given in moderation and as part of a balanced diet.

Always ensure that any new food is introduced gradually and consult a veterinarian if you have concerns about their diets.

Thank you again for your generosity, Mary! We canā€™t wait to share these pumpkins with our furry friends!

Exciting News !!

Most of you know our sweet donkeys Jelly, Bean and Ozzy! For those whoā€™ve been following their journey, hereā€™s a quick recap: Jelly came to us with a group of donkeys from Louisiana, known as the LA 22, and she had little Ozzy by her side. To our surprise, we found out she was pregnant, and she gave birth to beautiful baby Bean while at the rescue a few years back.

Fast forward - hereā€™s the BEST part: we are over the moon to announce that a wonderful man named Les just adopted ALL THREE of them! Now, theyā€™ll be living the dream on a stunning 20+ acres, joining his other donkey in a loving forever home!

We couldnā€™t be happier for them. Thank you to everyone who has supported their journey. Hereā€™s to new beginnings !

Farrier Day for Buster, Barry Wayne, and Angel!

As many of you know, Barry Wayne was recently diagnosed with laminitis, making his hoof trims incredibly important right now (though we know they are crucial for all our animals). We're thrilled to share that heā€™s showing some improvement! His personality is shining through again, and heā€™s becoming the playful guy we all know and love.

Todayā€™s farrier visit for these three wonderful souls cost $135. If you could find it in your hearts to donate to our farrier fund for this bill, future farrier services or even sponsor one of your favorite animals getting their feet done at Beckyā€™s Hope, it would mean the world to us!

Please donate here: https://beckyshope.com/donate

Thank you all for your continued support! Every little bit helps us provide the care these amazing animals deserve. ā¤ļø

Hey everyone!

Do you want to hear some good news or some REALLY REALLY good news? How about both?

The good news is that our sweet Cherry is doing AMAZING in her training with Painted Prairie Ranch and is now ready for adoption!

And the REALLY REALLY good news? Drumroll, pleaseā€¦ She already has someone interested and is currently filling out all the paperwork!

As many of you know, Cherry was born here at the farm on June 21st, 2017, and itā€™s been a journey, but we think she has finally found her forever person! We couldnā€™t be more thrilled!

Thank you all for your unwavering support of Beckyā€™s Hope! Your love and encouragement mean the world to us, and we couldn't do this without you!

Stay tuned for more updates! I included some of the photos of the day she was born just to show off her cuteness! šŸ„°

Please help us congratulate Randy and Denise on their amazing love for donkeys and their new additions to their family!

They adopted two Donkeys from us many years ago: Sally and Dolly. Dolly just passed away a few months ago (šŸ„ŗšŸ’”) and they feel the time is right and Sally is ready for new friends.

Randy, Denise and Cameron met with us and fell in love with our three adorable donkeys: Homer, Chance, and Jr! We couldnā€™t be more thrilled!

Thank you, Denise and Randy for opening your hearts and home to more donkeys. You truly are part of our FARMily!

Sending all our love to you and your new Donkey fam! ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø

11 Week Update on Mr. Mule!

Oopsie! I meant to post this yesterday, but here we are! As you can see from his 11-week update, Mr. Mule is doing great and slowly but surely gaining the much-needed weight heā€™s been lacking.

As I mentioned last week, heā€™s been having a bit of trouble getting up on his own. Many times, Andria and her family have to step in and use all their might to help him up, but there are also moments when he surprises us and gets up on his own without any issues.

Two vets have came to check him out, and the consensus is that he has some stifle issues. Theyā€™ve made an appointment for him to receive steroid injections to help relieve some of the inflammation and pain. During his visit, they also noticed that his knee is quite displaced, but surprisingly, he doesnā€™t show signs of pain while walkingā€”though he does hold that leg up a lot.

Given his age and everything he's been through, the vets agree that heā€™s in surprisingly good health for his advanced years, and everyone is doing their absolute best for this sweet guy.

Right now, weā€™re hopeful that the steroid injections will provide him with some relief on his weaker side. In the meantime, weā€™ll keep spoiling him with all the love and care he deserves, and weā€™re optimistic heā€™ll continue to get stronger!

Iā€™ve included a copy of his recent medical bills in this post. If you can find it in your heart to continue to contribute to his care, we would appreciate it more than words can say.

Thank you all for loving Mr. Mule as much as we do!
