🔥July 15 is Pet Fire Safety Day! 🔥

Your pets are family, so make sure they're safe in case of a fire. Here are some tips to keep in mind:

-Create a Plan: Include your pets in your fire escape plan and practice it regularly.

-Pet Alert Stickers: Place these on windows to let firefighters know pets are inside.

-Secure Candles: Keep them out of reach to prevent accidents.

-Avoid Stove K***s: Pets can accidentally turn them on—use covers or remove k***s when not in use.

-Keep Leashes/Carriers Handy: Ensure quick and easy access during an emergency.
Designate a Safe Haven: Choose a neighbor or a nearby friend who can help in case of evacuation.

-Smoke Detectors: Ensure they are functioning and consider monitored detectors that alert emergency services.

-Microchip and ID Tags: Make sure your pets are microchipped and have up-to-date ID tags in case they get lost.

-Secure Electrical Cords: Keep them out of reach to prevent chewing and possible fires.

-Clear Exits: Make sure exits are always clear of pet items and clutter for a quick escape.

-Outdoor Safety: If your pets are outdoors, keep them in safe areas and have a plan to bring them inside quickly.

-Pet Emergency Kit: Prepare a kit with food, water, medications, and first aid supplies.

They can be a soldiers first line of defense, moving much needed supplies, aiding the wounded, delivering messages, most of all giving comfort to soldiers.

🐾 Calling all baking enthusiasts! 🍰 Help support Cat Guardians in their mission to care for stray and abandoned cats in our community by showcasing your baking talents! Our bake sales are vital for fundraising and connecting with our amazing supporters.

Our first Bake Sale / Open House of the year will be on April 20-21st. We're on the lookout for volunteer bakers to whip up some homemade treats that will keep our visitors coming back for more! Whether you're a baking pro or just love to experiment in the kitchen, we'd love to have you on our team.

Here's how it works:
1️⃣ Express your interest by dropping us a note with your name and email address.
2️⃣ About two weeks before each bake sale, we'll send out an email to our list of bakers. If you have the time and inclination to bake, that's fantastic! If not, no worries – there's no obligation.

Cat Guardians relies entirely on volunteers and donations to continue our mission. For over three decades, we've been providing care and love to cats in the Lombard, Villa Park and Elmhurst areas. Many of our furry friends find forever homes, but for those who don't, Cat Guardians is their loving sanctuary.
