Today marks the first day of Adopt a Horse Month! Although the horses in our program are not technically available for adoption, they are still in need of new homes none-the-less. In an effort to give them all some extra attention, we will be giving each horse its time in the spotlight throughout this month.
We currently have 16 equines listed in our program, with 3 more listings currently in the works and 7 additional scheduled for assessment before the month is through.
The need for new, loving homes is high and we need your help!
If you aren't able to open up your barn to a horse in need of a home, please take a moment to interact on each of the posts and help spread the word. Every like, comment and share boosts the algorithm and gives each horse a little more visibility in the social media world. It really doesn't take much for you to play a role in helping them find their new homes! 🙂
Stay tuned!

It was a fantastic weekend spent at the The Maryland Horse Trials @ Loch Moy Farm! Thank you so much to Carolyn and her amazing staff/volunteers for hosting the event and benefitting METS! We saw so many great riders and festive costumes. Here’s a peak from the costume contest on Sunday!
Happy #GivingTuesday! During this global movement of generosity, we hope you'll consider donating to METS: Maryland Equine Transition Service! To celebrate this day of giving, here's a short video of only a handful of the 180+ horses we have helped through our program.
Your donation can help a horse in need of transition find their happily ever after ❣

Meet Our Companion Horses - National Love Is Kind Day 072721
It's #NationalLoveIsKindDay. Today is to recognize our right to be treated with kindness. Real love is kind, not terrorizing. We are grateful that our current available METS horses do not come from an abusive home. But they are IN NEED of a new home, one with love and kindness. Here is a short clip of our cuddly companion only horses who are still waiting for that special someone to take them. 💕

METS alum update! We received a video of Daisy and Dakota's Happy Horse Paddock Paradise. They are enjoying their new 1/4 mile track attached to their corral that loops through woods. Here's what their owner, Gayle, has to tell us on how happy they are:
"Daisy and Dakota seem to love their new track system, and so do we! Their fitness and moods are already improving, and they even seem more cheerful while ridden. We have also noticed that their “buddy sourness” has decreased. They seem more relaxed when out of sight from each other, knowing their buddy is just around the corner."
We love receiving updates of METS alum horses! If you currently own a horse that was transitioned through METS, send us photos or videos of how they're doing!
