The latest addition to our breeding program came all the way from the UK! Thank you to AML Reptiles for making this happen, and for the importers in Canada and Florida! I am happy to introduce Emperor Blaze, son of Skittle and Big Red. He is a gorgeous red toffeebelly anaconda! And boy is he SPICY!

Well wouldn't you know it, clutch #3 started hatching today! Look at this little beauty with the silver eyes! This is Commandee Fae's clutch at day 55.

Mire and Lux's clutch has successfully produced all 4 genetic possibilities! Look at all the colors! We now have normal (wild type), albino, axanthic, and snow babies! These are just 4 of the 8 that have hatched. A few more eggs to go!

Clutch #2 is starting to reveal itself on day 53! Pairing was Lady Lux (albino het axanthic) with Detective Mire (axanthic possible het albino). This is so exciting because this little albino proves that Detective Mire's possible het albino is confirmed! That means that there is a small likelihood of some of these eggs being snow (visual axanthic and albino).

Here is the debut of our very first clutch here at Spicy Hogs! What a beautiful variation among patterns and shades. They are all anaconda and yet are each distinct. Scroll through all the photos for individual pics of each!

Clutch #1 is almost done hatching! All but one egg has pipped. This clutch belongs to Tira, but we paired her with both Mire and Puddles. It appears all these babies have some degree of pattern reduction influenced by the anaconda gene. That means Puddles is the father!

Let it begin!

We have our very first baby snake face! What a relief it is after peering through the window every day. This little guy is hatching on day 49 after the eggs were laid.

Here's hoping for 6 healthy siblings for this little one!

The girls have been getting a lot of attention lately. Puddles would like everyone to know that HE knows the best way to eat a mouse. Butt first. Always butt first.

It's amazing the difference a couple weeks makes. The first egg is only a couple days old. You can see the pink veins showing when a light is shined through the shell. The second egg is about 12 days older. The dark curve is a fetus developing and growing a little bigger each day.

Our last female, Fae, laid over night. What a relief. I was worried about this girl since she is small. Lots of experienced breeders helped me ensure this process was as safe as possible for her. She laid 7 eggs, although 2 don't appear to have veins in them. Time will tell.

Lux laid a total of 13 fertile eggs and one slug (infertile egg)! She ate a good meal after all that work. If Mire's genes prove out, some of these babies could be snow white! Fingers crossed!

I have been pacing like an expectant father waiting for this clutch. Lady Lux finally started to lay this morning. Can't wait to get home from work!

Our very first clutch was produced today by the lovely, red Tira! This is our mystery clutch. Both Mire and Puddles were paired with her, so we will not know who the sire is until the eggs hatch!

Hoping for some of this action this year!

On our way to Day 2 of the Grapevine, Texas Repticon ! We still have a bunch of hognoses and even a few corns and high white California king snakes!

If you haven't seen an adult hognose, we brought a male and female breeder from our personal collection and are also selling Clover and Mr. Bond, who locked late last year, but Mr. Bond was not quite as ready as we thought, so Clover slugged out (laid infertile eggs). We were planning on finding them new homes, but kept them since they locked. Now that she got those slugs out, she and Mr. Bond are ready for their new homes!
