While the majority of our dogs are still boarding off-site while work is being done in our kennels, we are still accepting adoption applications! These 3 dogs have one thing in common...they love meeting people! 🫶
🎄 Eaires is a sweet girl who was a little shy when she arrived, but has blossomed into a playful, fun puppy-like dog who will make a fantastic companion.
🎅 Doug is an extra-large guy with an extra-large personality. He loves to go for pack walks with staff and other dogs. He's 100lbs of sweetness!
⛄️ Flori is a sweet, friendly girl with lots of energy and love of play. She needs a home without other dogs but she's all the loving-pup that you'll need.

INTRODUCING MIA....THE EXTREME CUDDLE BUG!!!❤️🐾🐶

This is a face of a desperate dog who made it out of an extremely bad situation when she randomly wandered into a church one evening and met a Good Samaritan who had just buried her mother. This emaciated little pocket pittie, now named Mia was in extreme need of help. Thank goodness she found her guardian Angel who took her home without a plan but knew Mia needed help. She reached out to the township of Plainfield who refused to help the dog, but then we were contacted to help. There was no way we could refuse to help her. We immediately got her to our vet who formulated a plan to get her better. Once stable she was moved to her current foster home where she is thriving. All her original medical issues have been resolved and she is now on a prescription diet to help keep her system regular and functioning properly. Mia currently lives with other dogs but truly is obsessed with her foster Mom. She follows her everywhere and must lay in her lap while on the couch. We believe she would do best as an only dog with older children since she commands her humans attention. She is great on leash and in the car. She is crate trained and thoroughly enjoys running around in the yard and playing fetch. She is working on potty training and is doing much better. Her fur feels like velvet and she enjoys all the rubbies she can get.

If you're looking for an easygoing adult cat, Wilfred just may be the one for you. This 4 year old fellow was found as a stray and he would love to find a home for the holidays. He doesn't ask for much and appreciates pets and treats, and we think he'll do best in a home with older kids. Please don’t keep him waiting. Come meet wonderful Wilfred at the VAO soon. This beautiful mama has been through so much, having litter after litter of puppies. All of her puppies have since been adopted and now it is time for Mercy to find a family of her own. To no fault of her own, she can be a bit uncomfortable around new people so we are searching for experienced adult adopters who are familiar with undersocialized dogs.
