So proud of progress today! “Vincent” stepped right into the low hunters at Old Salem at his third show ever, laid down 2 trips like this and was totally on it! I’m so grateful for these opportunities and look forward to many more shows with him! Baby Spur came along for the ride to keep Vinny company and stood quietly for the day like it’s a regular weekend thing. Such good boys 🏆

✨must be nice✨
I took this picture last night at 7:30 when I finished a ride on a client’s horse, after I rode others, taught, went searching for a missing shoe and was literally running out of hours in the day. I thought I was so lucky to be able to ride on good footing outside in the middle of winter AND he was a good boy for working that late when he’s not used to it.
I took care of the barn, tucked in the ones that were in with recleaned stalls, full hay nets, and their night time clothes, and prepped the stalls for my school horses that get turned out at night so they could come in to their cozy stalls in the morning. It was getting late. Did they NEEEEEED more shavings? No. But if it wasn’t that late would I have questioned it? No. So I made their stalls cozy.
I unloaded hay until 10:30. And I thought, I took 2 days off for the weekend so I can’t be tired, I can’t be worried about the time. I got to the last bale and realized- many people have a 2 day weekend. Every. Week.
Do I want that? No. Do I want a 9-5 job? No. But then the recurring “must be nice” comment came into my mind, the “you have help from your parents” came to mind, the “you’re so lucky” came to mind. The “wow you have a horse THAT NICE this early in your career?”Guess what? No one handed me my business. My horses didn’t fall into my lap out of luck at no cost and no work put into them. No one funds my business except the clients that my horses and I keep happy and keep coming back. And that nice horse I have? I look at him everyday and wonder how I deserve such a creature to call mine. If you look at a horse girl, or a horse business owner, and want to judge them for what they have just based on what you see, maybe you should try to keep up with us for a day, guaranteed you wouldn’t make it. You clearly have the time if you have no realization of the work we put into everyday.

Board includes large, fluffy, well bedded stalls with windows, grain 2-3 times per day, high quality free choice hay as desired, daily turnout and top notch individualized care as if they were my own (anyone who knows me knows how I care for my horses).

Willow Creek features an indoor ring, outdoor, cross country field, and a pond to hack around.

The cold weather has opened up a few lesson slots! Grab them while you can, ride in our huge indoor, and join our barn family!! Super safe, educated school horses to build rider’s confidence with showing opportunities as well if desired. We have a rare opportunity of one stall open in the main barn for boarding/training board as well.

A fabulous day at Folly to end the 2023 show season!!

Rachel and Vino were champion in the long stirrup🍷
Sharon and Teddy were reserve champion in the long stirrup 🧸
Keeley and Crush were 3rd in a huge walk trot class 🐢
Madelyn and Maverick were reserve champion in the walk trot at their first show together in a huge class! 🍝
Maddy and Crush were 3rd in their equitation class 🐢
Abigail and Crush were 2nd in the leadline 🐢
Olivia and Crush got great ribbons in a big CT Training Hunter division 🐢
Olivia and Coco ended the day winning their jump off class!! 🥔

Thank you everyone for being so supportive for the entire long day. Everyone rode great and there were lots of smiles to go around. And thank you to our Ponyman for trailering and being a vital part to yet another horseshow 💜

Ribbons are great, but having multiple people approach me to say we have the best horses couldn’t have made me happier 💜 we’d have none of this without the best ponies to teach us!

A little late but we had a fantastic time co- hosting our IEA show at Windcrest on Saturday! Everyone including our awesome parents worked happily from packing Friday night, to holding horses and organizing all day on Saturday.
The whole team rode great and we are so lucky to have such amazing horses who give us all these opportunities- thank you Lenny, Louie, Bruiser, Vino, and Crush for being the best boys ever!
Thank you Susannah for all of your help, not having time to sleep, keeping everything organized, and dealing with me getting over stressed and over excited (and you’re pretty cute in the coaching scene with a clipboard too) 😁
Thank you Colton for being our Ponyman, bringing horses back and forth into the night, and being there for all the girls, giving them feedback from every ride 💜

Onto next weekend with 6 horses this time! When the girls found out we won’t have Susannah next weekend (just picture me nervous smiling), they all panicked and then said “but Colton will still come, right?” We have a pretty awesome team 🦄

Lenny and Louie had a successful first turnout trip with the quad!!! We’ve got some kool boys and a great kwad driver 😎

Louie says he won’t canter for adults but will happily teach his favorite little one to do so 🥰

Vinny is really figuring life out!!

The heat can’t stop these two 🔥 go Payton and Louie!

You know it was a great lesson when we finish and they ask “what’s the date today? I need to remember this day!” So so so proud of Julia and Vinny. Their first real lesson and ride together since moving here and they both exceeded all expectations, even ending with a jump! Good boy Vinny!
