Hope and Joy Farms is a full service farm dedicated to the horse and rider. The farm was born when our family decided to live closer to God’s creations. We believe each day is a gift and we promise to care for your horses as if they were our own. Our staff is trained in equine first aid and our loving care for your horses will be unmatched. We believe the horse and its relationship with the rider

is unique and worth developing. So if you are having trouble trailering your horse, or just want him better prepared for a trail ride, we offer our help. With patience and proper training, the horse and rider can learn from each other.

and her team competed this weekend at the American Stock Horse Association Region II Championships. Congrats to everyone on another successful show. Horses will teach lessons that no other life experiences can. I am thankful for these lessons and the opportunities that the team has to grow, learn, and glorify God. I am proud of our brave and strong daughter for growing with her horse. The team got 4th place in the collegiate showdown and Katie had a good run on cows, placing 2nd on the team. She also took home a 6th place finish on day 3 in the Open Reining class.

Can’t say enough about how proud I am of Lexie for her performance at the 2024 collegiate national championships. She cut time from her freshman year nationals appearance. She took the podium in 3rd place for her heat! She was top 50 (45th) overall in the country for NCAA DII. Team high point scorer. And most importantly, glorified God with her talents and dedication.

Race recap:
In the swim she was 2:20 off the leader. She had a good T1 transition and caught the main chase pack on the bike after about 6 miles. Due to the technicality of the course she chose to stay at or near the front of the pack, actually pulling the pack most of the way. The pack had a little wreck going into T2, but she came out with only a few cuts and had a good transition anyway. She caught the lead cyclist 400 yards into the run and began passing a few stragglers that were in front off the bike. She was in 2nd place but didn’t look like she could catch the leader. She got passed only once on the run at about the 2 mile mark. The girl that passed her won the race and Lexie held on for 3rd.

So proud of Katie and her hard work. She was blessed to be hired by Live Nation and Matt Rife for the event this past week. Between Bad Bunny and Lainey Wilson and now Matt Rife, she is making quite a name for herself. Who would have thought that her little cowhorse would end up so versatile?!

Such an exciting (but very hard, lol) time of year. The girls are all set up and back to school. Katie reported last week to be a Master Plan Mentor and Lexie reported for NCAA meetings and media day yesterday. Praying for safety and success as they continue to pursue their goals.

03/12/2024

Our spring internship position is available once again. Every year our farm takes on a 10 week intern who wants to experience all aspects of managing a farm. This is not a “clean stalls in exchange for riding” position. This position is for the dedicated individual wanting to learn how to effectively and efficiently run a farm. The spring 2024 position will have a higher focus on c**t starting and problem solving.

The program is designed to teach: Horsemanship skills, training, pasture management, feed and finances, professional etiquette, marketing, herd management, and riding.

Those interested must be over 18, have transportation, willing to put 10 hours a week minimum on the farm (although you may put in as much as 25 if desired), tack helpful but not necessary, confident but willing to learn rider helpful, professional farm attire, willingness to learn our techniques and philosophies, above all a good and positive attitude.

This is not a paid position, and is not a free labor position either. This is a working internship to prepare for farm ownership or barn management. Opportunities may arise to make money as projects always happen on the farm. It is not expected or required to accept these offers. Our hope is that we can teach and network to help get you in the industry after the internship.
