Producers, Do you have a Herd Veterinarian? You might ask, what does that even mean?!

-A VCPR (Valid Client Patient Relationship) is a legally defined relationship between a Veterinarian, animal owner and group of animals.
In order to establish and maintain this VCPR, we need to be on the farm regularly and have a good relationship with our client.

-Routine Herd health and prevention is so important! Much more difficult to fix a problem than to prevent it.

-Sometimes people forget that Veterinarians have to have a relationship with the animals and the producer before we can LEGALLY dispense prescription medications or write VFDs. We can’t stress this enough!

-Having a good working relationship with your Veterinarian can often prevent “emergency” situations or make it easier when they do happen!
