McVan Scotties had an amazing weekend at the Sammamish KC and WSSTC shows. McVan's Flash Dancer went BOB from the classes to finish his champion under judge Carmen Haller. At the WSSTC he went BOB and earned a NOHS RBIS in NOHS competition under breeder judge Bill DeVilleneuve.

Under judge Victor Rosado GCH McVan's Stardust came out of retirement to go BISS -- just 7 weeks after having puppies. Her brother's daughter Langholm Beameups Black Crystal at McVan garnered a 4 point major from the 9-12 puppy class.

McVan's Captain America finished his American championship under judge Grant Townsend and earned a NOHs Group 1.

It's cherry season here in Washington State. Cheryl James and I went over to Yakima, WA to see our Scottie friend Catherine Santos who was there helping out her mom. On our way home, we stopped at one the huge fruit stands on the road. My goal was getting my first batch of the season of tasty red-yellow Rainier (after the mountain) cherries. I found them but I also found a new variety Strawberry Cherries which do not taste like strawberries nor like cherries. The taste is somewhere in between. For right now, they were firmer and sweeter and more plumb than my "besty" Rainers. And of course they still had the pitless inside. Can't they breed a pitless cherry like a seedless watermelon.
Well I guess they can't because in the process of devouring these tasty treats, I heard a rather loud crunch. Strawberry Cherry pit 1. Tooth 0. Vandra's pocket book for a new cap -$2,200.

Waiting a day to go to the Koczarski Aesthetic and Laser Dentistry, I ate more cherries and sighed.

Well when the zebra's escape in Washington, I thought I had seen everything. But out walking I was able to get this shot with another Northwest creature in our old growth forests.
Luckily my bears did not join in the feast.

🔥WD and BOW 5 pt major was also our young boy, McVan's Paperback Writer aka Writer owned by Ellen W Avery, Vandra L. Huber and Rebecca Cross. Bred by Vandra and Rebecca. too!!!
Ellen did marvelous piloting him, he also was Best in Puppy Sweeps yesterday! This was Writer's second specialty WD win and 2nd Best in Sweepstakes.
To finish off a grand day, new GCH McVan's Stardust aka Dusty Rose bred and owned by Vandra L. Huber
and Michael Krolewski received an Award of Merit. Not even two years old, she is being conditioned and shown by Christian Rangel.
