We have some BIG news to share… Dog Heaven is officially a 501(c)(3) nonprofit! 🎉🐾

This milestone has been years in the making. When we first started, we weren’t sure if we had what it would take to grow beyond just a dream. What we did know is that the world needed a place for senior dogs, high-risk rescues, and the people who love them to find safety, healing, and hope. That calling kept us going through the unknowns, the challenges, and the long nights.

Today, because of so many of you who believed in us, that dream is now a reality. Becoming a nonprofit means we can expand our reach, save even more lives, and continue to support both animals and people in crisis.

This is way more than paperwork (even though it for sure was a lot of paperwork lol). It is proof that community matters, that love matters, and that every single one of you who has supported us along the way has made Dog Heaven what it is today. 💛

Here’s to the next chapter. Together, we can save even more dogs, cats, and hearts.

Everyone, meet Meadow. 🌼

She’s just a year old, spayed, up to date on her shots, and has the sweetest temperament. Meadow is great with kids, other dogs, and even cats — plus she’s full of energy for hiking, camping, and adventures, while still being the best cuddle buddy at the end of the day. 🐾

This girl has been soaking up love at the sanctuary, but what she really needs is a forever family of her own. Could that be you?

It’s our co-founder Nita’s birthday today! 💙 If you know Nita, you know her life is dedicated to giving animals a second chance, pouring her heart, time, and energy into making Dog Heaven a true sanctuary. We’d love for her to feel just as celebrated today as the animals she fights for every single day.

For her birthday, all she wants is one thing: to save more animals. Her wish is to have a $1,000 day for Dog Heaven, and there are a few ways you can help make that happen:

We’ve got not one, but two big celebrations coming up that we’d love you to be part of.

🐺 October 30th — Saints & Scoundrels. Think costumes, food trucks, and a night that’s a little bit spooky, a little bit silly, and all for a good cause. Every ticket helps us keep saying yes to the animals who need us most.

💃 November 9th — Veteran’s Double Charity Fashion Show. This one’s close to the heart. Female veterans will take the runway, showing the same strength and resilience they’ve lived in service. Proceeds support both Dog Heaven and Victory Service Dogs.

Both nights are about more than events — they’re about community showing up for each other, whether on two legs or four.
