Happy Thanksgiving week!
Thanksgiving is a time for family, food, and fun, but it's also a time when we need to be extra cautious about our pets. The holiday season brings with it a host of potential dangers that can put your furry companions at risk. From dangerous foods, to stress from the holiday hustle, here is how you can keep your pets safe and stress-free this Thanksgiving.
Avoiding foods that may be hazardous such as turkey, bones, onions, garlic, chocolate, xylitol, alcohol, rich and fatty foods.
Create a safe space if your pets gets nervous about visitors. Make sure this area is set up with their favorite bed, toys, and access to food and water. Watch for sings of stress, excessive barking, drooling, hiding and loss of appetite. These may be signs your pets needs attention or may need to be moved to a quieter part of the house.
Decorations can be fun, but some of them can pose a risk to pets. Watch out for candles, tinsel, small objects and holiday plants. Some popular holiday plants such as lilies, mistletoe, and certain types of gourds are toxic to pets if ingested.
