Today there was a public post regarding a client's unhappiness with our service. Normally I would not respond because it really doesn't do any good however this has gotten out of hand. There are several accusations being made by one that are patently untrue and it has opened the door for others to complain when they haven't even been here. I know...I checked.
First, the 2 dogs were VERY sweet and cooperative.
One of them had visited once before, 2 years 3 months ago.
Second, I accept total responsibility for dropping the ball on getting the dogs done by the given time. My dryer blew up and as you can imagine it's very difficult to dry a dog without a dryer. I had to go home and get another. It's a 40 minute drive each way so i was gone at least an hour. That put me behind from the start. What I should have done was call all the clients and offer them the option of picking up their dogs and rescheduling if the delay caused them any concern. I didn't do that and I apologise for that.
The elderly dog (13 years) was bathed and dried and ready to be groomed when he fouled himself and did a jig in it. That did not require a "rinse". It required a full rebath and blow dry. Another delay in time. The second dog was a dream to groom but his owner showed up while he was being groomed and he lost his mind. He was so happy to see her and danced around the table trying to get to her. Try working on a dog with scissors, especially around their face and head, and you will find it an impossible task. I will 100% deny that the dog was bleeding or dirty with f***s when he left. In the first place, it's unprofessional and in the second, grooming a dirty dog ruins the equipment. The equipment is expensive and mine won't touch a dog unless it's clean and dry.
The dogs were bouncing around, dancing with happiness when they left. They were not the least bit tramatized.
When we start our day, the shop is spotless. It looks and smells great. By the end of a busy workday, it's a hairy mess. It's not a Dr's office or a surgical room. It's a pet grooming salon and all the mess that comes with that. Believe it or not, it will smell like wet dog. And if a dog poops, you may get a whiff of that! Hair is circulating in the air. People drop in for nail trims all day so maybe you'll see a few nail tips on the floor. Hazards of the business. When everyone is gone, everything gets vacuumed, mopped, sterilized and readied for the next days work.
If I mess up, tell me. I'll own it and I'll do my level best to make it right. But I will not allow someone to maliciously attack my business with made up accusations without a response. I freely admit we dropped the ball on time but I any slanderous accusations of mistreatment or filth are blantent lies.
To everyone yesterday. That was so understanding with the delay, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. If I haven't already told you, we appreciate you.
