Did you know most adult cats are lactose intolerant?

Even though some cats LOVE their milk, for many adult cats, the lack of lactase in their gut (the enzyme in a cat’s, and our own, gut that breaks down lactose, which is the sugar in milk) leads to difficulty or inability to properly digest that milk and can lead to some upset stomach.

But if your cat is invisible, you have bigger problems than a little milk induced flatulence.

For all those who have been asking, as well as thinking of and praying for Dr. Conrad (THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU), still no update on when, or if, he will be able to return to the clinic, but continues to get better and was able to get some vitamin D therapy 🌞 while spending some quality time with 2 of his grandkids in California.

We continue to thank you for keeping him in your thoughts and prayers, and will update you as he continues to improve.

But don’t wait to make an appointment, Dr. Baier has jumped right in and the clinic is here to care for all your pets!

As expected, our first snowy sign of the season.

A few helpful reminders for your 4-legged friends during Halloween courtesy of ASPCA.

No chocolate, generally the darker the chocolate the worse it is for your dogs!
Sugar free candies (like those containing xylitol, which is now is some peanut butters) can be toxic for dogs!
Grapes and raisins (Boo! Who wants raisins for Halloween) are also a big no-no!

Be safe! Stay warm!

Next week’s sign picture will likely have snow in it.

Hope everyone’s ready for winter.

Let’s keep those dogs and cats active through the winter. Call us today if you’re concerned about your pet’s weight so we can discuss exercise, nutritional, or medical recommendations to keep those weights (and joints) healthy.

The best time to think about protecting your kitten is in their first year of life! In fact, nearly half of kittens experience unprecedented illness or injury before turning one.

We all want our pets to live long, healthy lives but accidents and illnesses can happen at any age. Medical insurance for your pet can help cover the cost of unexpected vet bills – talk with your veterinarian about opportunities for coverage at your next visit.
