There can be some big advantages to a started Belgian Malinois vs a younger puppy:

1. Mals are a ton of work as young pups. Caring for them takes a lot of patience & energy. Getting them to the 6 month mark is huge!

2. Training Progress- Basic training has already begun. This can save you time and effort compared to a younger puppy.

3. Physical Development- By 6 months, Malinois puppies have grown and developed, which gives you a better idea of their size, coat and overall appearance.

4. Socialization Foundation- The Mal has already begun socializing with other dogs and people, which is essential for their well-rounded development.

5. Attention Span- An older Malinois will likely have a longer attention span compared to a younger puppy, making training sessions more effective.

6. Health Screening- Initial health screenings and vaccinations have been done; giving you a better understanding of the dog's health.

However, it's crucial to note that getting a Belgian Malinois at any age will require an investment of time and continued training.

It is important be prepared for the responsibility of owning a working dog!
