The Better Business Bureau supports liars and misinformation. Shame on them.
08/2023 Here's the email I received from a client.

"Hello, my wife Karol received a call from a lady that used your services to find her cat and we are interested to see if this is possible for our cat. She went missing Monday, June 26th, now 7 weeks ago as of today. We live in Scappoose Oregon above the HWY 30 fire station on the hill and have mountains and tree behind and beside us. The cat feared her shadow and I fear something scared her and she lost her way. We have a few things with her scent on it and have two other cats that may interfere with the scent. Is it possible to find her with these challenges? She was wearing a collar with a phone number tag, but with her fear of people I am afraid no one would be able to get close enough to read the tag.

Interested in the possibilities and cost. James Ford 503- # # #- # # # # Team; H. Oakes. Results: Sent info. Sent a consulting contract which protects the client and my business.

Scam.... beware. I was sent a bill and contract before any consultation or assessment was preformed. Sad owners of missing pets fall for this scam; they fill out his not of legit contract and he shows up to collect the money. This needs to be stoped. If you give him a bad Yelp rating he attacks, calling the customer names. Read his responses on yelp... it explains his true character.

My email to this LIAR.
"At no time did I call you any names until now. Anyone who attacks me, my work is labeled a "TROLL" when they attack me openly without any documented factual evidence.

My credibility has and will continue to hold up in court.
You contacted me, I didn't contact you.

I sent you a contract which protects you and my company. You refused my service and then write a negative review because I charge for consulting. Shame on you. You need to grow up.
He stated I showed up to collect money. I never ever in 38 years have done that. (Another lie).

My 38 years of success speaks for itself and not from uneducated folks like yourself.

I never once saw you standing by my side on any of the 15,150 calls I've worked around the world.

I've never seen you spend your own $ to fly to a country (Turkey, Honduras, Philippines) from disaster and risk your own life yet I've been there, and you call me a scammer.

I've filed a complaint against you with the dept of justice and the BBB folks like you who never used my professional service need to keep your mouths shut.

I've attached my first book that I wrote about SAR maybe this will educate you a bit.

Note: I filed a complaint with the BBB about them posting lies/misinformation from clients and they did NOTHING about it. This means they support liars and misinformation.
They certainly have lost my trust.

a funny email in..

Dear Mr. Oaks (wrong spelling it's Oakes).

I'm shocked at where your search dogs found gracie. We looked for four days and then decided to hire you to find her and find her you did. When you first arrived and asked to search the house (that was the last place she was seen). I thought you were wasting time. We had already searched it three times.

When your SAR dogs kept sniffing under my car in the garage and I bent down with a flashlight and looked up inside the tire well OMG there she was.

(Client had a collector car 63 Ford classic stored in his garage).

This is why we always ask the clients before we come out to search their homes and garages completely.

I can't begin to thank you enough. Our vet says she's dehydrated but will be ok.

Good job for your dogs to find her so quickly.

Thanks again

Harry's and I did a phone consult after I lost my cat. He had clear, extensive advice, and some of it led to me relocating my pet. If you have a lost pet and don't know where to start please get in touch with him. Thank you very much Harry I appreciate you.

Our family cat had gone missing for 6 days. My wife and I combed through the house, garage, we walked door to door, put out flyers, checked shelters etc. during that period. Then it dawned on us that Harry had helped to find a friend of ours lost dog some years ago. I contacted her, she got me Harry's info, and Harry immediately responded that he was available and after a few quick exchanges he was on the way. His friendly crew of dogs got the scent and first did a thorough search throughout the house and found nothing. They picked up a faint scent outside but it led to no where. Harry explained that this was likely the dogs detecting our cats scent on our shoes because that is the way we would way, several times a day, to try and find him. That led us back to the garage. The dog that was searching the garage alerted quite strongly on my old Buick, which I had searched head to toe (e.g. hood was still open!), but the dog was sure he was there. And he was right, my missing cat was lodged/stuck way up in the wheel well. Had I moved that car, and I had intended to soon, he would have likely been crushed. It's amazing he didn't starve or die of dehydration for those 6 days. We have no idea why he didn't move or make a sound as I'm a car guy and was in and out of that garage, with it wide open, several times a day. Harry and his crew are true heroes to our family. Thanks, Harry!

I lost 2 dogs that chased a bear off our property. On day 4 of missing, Harry gave me specific instructions on to who to call to report the missing dogs. It was along list and took a few hours but totally worth it. He saved me thousands of dollars by giving me advice and guidance on gathering resources to help. On day 5 my dogs were found because I made the calls I otherwise would have thought pointless. The only thing Harry asked for in return was to let me know if I found them. He followed up with emails during the search and I was grateful he had offered to help. My experience was great.

some of our many thousands of documented finds over the last years have some happy endings some have some very sad endings. This poor dog got attacked by a coyote....and survived. (Most don't).

Keep your dog on leash, walk with a firearm (if trained on how to carry and use) or bear mace. If your dog gets away from you, contact me and I'll help you.

As you can understand we are swamped in search calls for missing pets due to the huge # of folks firing off fireworks/guns.
If you are missing your pet please do the following.

1). Figure out which direction the wind is coming from. Your pet will travel INTO THE WIND. Not in the direction it's blowing to but into the direction it's blowing from.

2). Document Who, What, When, Why, Where, and How of your search.

3). Post on Social media. Facebook, next door, neighbors, etc. BE careful of SCAMS. Do not send anyone any $$$ for your pet. If someone calls and says they have your pet, have them describe something only you know about your pet that will confirm it's yours and meet them in a public place. Police dept parking lot, etc....

4). Go to www.k9sardog.com follow our lost pet guidelines. we have an 85% success rate of getting your pet back for FREE with you following my suggestions based on 37 years of searching for lost pets.

5). Cats hide close to home. Check under the hood of vehicles, inside vehicles, under seats, any RV's, Boats, sheds, attics, behind washers, dryers, inside closets, dresser drawers, under beds, in garages.

6). Dogs if they run will travel usually not more than 3 miles. They can travel up to 20 miles a day but that's rare. File a report with local county animal control/shelter, local vet offices.

7). Go to shelters IN PERSON. Don't take their word that they DON'T have your pet. Many are staffed with volunteers who may forget to register your pet as being found.

8). If your pet is microchipped, go online and make sure the chip company has your current contact information.

Ask your neighbors who have RING/Blink cameras to check their cameras for your pet.

Thank you
Respectfully

email in re lost cat

to me

Oh my god I found her. I went on a nighttime walk at 1am with a headlamp down Mapleton st and was calling her name softly. When I got to ninth street I saw a shape slink away from me then bolt down 9th street. She was afraid of my light. I didn’t chase fast but did walk in the general direction she went. I hit a fork in my options and saw a bunny on one path so went the opposite way. Eight houses later down a dirt road I saw her cowering on a driveway. I turned my light off and approached her slowly and she let me grab her. I feel so incredibly grateful. She’s very dirty and has some car grease on her but she is home safe.

Thank you so much for the advice.

Because of this woman's reported attitude from Waggin Tails SAR,
I've stepped in and been consulting with them for FREE to try and help them find their scared lost dog.

Shame on Waggin tails SAR if this is true. Who cares who finds the dog as long as she's found?
