Happy Fourth of July!
We wanted to share a sneak peek of our new little rescue Bruno!
He is NOT up for adoption yet as he is underage but will be posted soon.
Update: Calvin is doing great and had a wonderful check up! He still needs help with his medical bill but check out the pictures in the OP comments! Calvin is finally able to puppy again! Thank you UC Davis for all of your help saving this precious boy
Calvin needs your help!
This handsome 13 week old baby is Calvin. He was surrendered to us from a family that loves him but bit off a little more than they could chew. He is originally from a backyard breeder and as usual with backyard breeders no medical care or health testing was done.
Calvin’s foster mom had to rush him into UC Davis Monday morning because he was struggling to breath and foaming at the mouth.
After further assessment, ultrasound and X-ray included, the veterinarian found he had a diaphragmatic hernia!
His spleen, lungs, heart and stomach were all smashed in his chest cavity.
He was taken into emergent surgery with the amazing soft tissue team. The surgery went as well as possible and he is recovering in the ICU on oxygen.
He is doing great but we need help with his medical bills. Posted in the original post in the comments is the estimate $6,200-$8,400.
Anything helps even $5! Please label donations Calvin

UPDATE: Calvin is back and recovering well, this is a long recovery (2 weeks for external and up to 2 months for internal). He had developed mild aspiration pneumonia but is on antibiotics for this and is powering through!
Isn't this adorable face worth helping!? Even $5 helps!
Dempsey is already over 15 lb!
He is thriving and growing like a weed.
Now is the time we need to have his first set of custom booties made. With him running and playing we want to ensure his back feet don't stop him. He is missing a portion of his pads along with the back toes on both feet.
These booties will make it safe and comfortable for him on hard surfaces and during the summer.
We are fundraising to pay for all the booties he is expected to require in the first 12 months.
He did so well at the casting he fell asleep while we were casting his second foot!

Happy Sunday!
The baby is finally on mush (wet and formula mixture) and he is playing with little puppy toys!
The next step in his treatment is to get padded booties we will be posting more about his booties later but wanted to share some Sunday morning puppy fun.
Honey Lou has been adopted 💕
Meet the beautiful Honey Lou!
Honey is a 1 year old labradoodle female. She loves to play fetch and to be around other dogs large and small. She prances instead of jogging, and she is almost always smiling a big goofy smile.
She is absolutely devoted to her people.
Honey is good with cats and kittens. She has her basic training and commands down. She is crate trained and working really hard on not pulling on the leash.
She is an energetic young dog who needs a family that will keep her exercised. Honey enjoys the pool and large bodies (of not bath water!).
Honey likes to play fetch and will place the ball on your arm if you aren’t paying attention.
Honey will bark at strangers and knocks at the door, but when appropriately approached she is everyone’s friend. We have done a lot of training to boost her confidence with people.
Honey needs a home with teenagers 13+ years old, and no younger children. This is a must.
She needs a full yard she can play in and an active family that is willing to take her out to socialize. She would love a doggy sibling to play with no matter it’s size.
Please be savvy with the breed and do your research before applying. Doodles are not easy first time dogs. They are gentle, but they can also be joyful, showing their happiness through exuberant jumping and playing.
Honey is not a dog that can be left for hours on end. She needs a family to spend time with and let her love them as much as you will love her.
Follow this post to our rescue page for more pictures of Honey Lou in the post comments!

Romano and all of the cheese nips are officially adopted!
Due to no fault of his own Romano is still looking for a home!
Romano is the last of the cheese nip puppies, he is a 10.5 week old Maltese mix (we do not know what with). He is spunky, goof and incredibly cuddly. He loves to talk to his foster mom and cuddle in her arms.
Romano is working on potty training and loves all other animals. He needs a family with an older, playful dog (older than him not old) to show him the ropes. He needs a backyard that is puppy and dog safe, he is only 4 lb and will slip under fences if they aren’t secure. He is good with cats and dogs, loves his people, he needs a home with children 10+ years old and dog savvy.
