Eva is ready to look for her forever home!

The amazing Eva is all healed up and ready to go home just in time for the holidays!

Eva is a 1-1.5 years old, 40 pound mixed breed. We are assuming she has Malinois mixed in her as she appears to be a shrunken down version of the breed.

Eva has been through a lot, after being attacked with a machete and having four surgeries, but this beautiful girl still LOVES everyone she meets!

Eva has come out of her shell and her foster mom says she is incredibly smart and is taking to training quickly.

Eva is a snuggle bug who loves to cuddle with her people and follow you everywhere.

Eva is great with older children and all adults. At 40 pounds she is a medium dog but gets a little excited once in a while and can get bouncy.

Eva is great with other dogs at her home but she can be overwhelming to dogs as well. She is high energy and needs her daily exercise to keep her happy.

Eva will chase cats if they run, so if there are any cats in her home they need to be very dog savvy and not run. She will remember the cats that run and try to chase them again.

Eva would thrive with agility training or obedience training. She is a dog you could train for all of the intricate tricks! She truly is one of the most intuitive dogs we have had in rescue

Eva is house trained, crated trained, basic obedience trained, leash trained, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, on flea, tick and heart worm prevention, spayed and so much more!

Tiny Cricket needs our help!

This tiny girl is named Cricket. She is a teacup Chihuahua that we took in from one of the northern California shelters. She was found wandering the marina in Martinez with three other small dogs who have also gone to Rescue.
Cricket was by far in the worst shape.

She entered the shelter under 2 pounds! She was skin and bones.

She was so emaciated that she was a cachexia score of 4/4 and a Body Condition Score of 1/9. We can count her ribs and see her spine across the room.

Cricket needs to put on at least double her current body weight. Due to the fact that her bones were so prominent she had developed large deep bed sores on the back of both legs that have gone untreated.

She is now under vet care with our Amazing team at Yolo Veterinary clinic and already feeling so much more comfortable.

We have surgery scheduled on 12/11 at Yolo Veterinary Clinic. After an ultrasound with a specialist in Auburn Wednesday she now has to have a complex surgery to correct the years of lack of proper care.

This tiny little girl has to have a mammary mass removed , x-rays to make sure that if it is cancerous it has not spread, and the mass needs to be biopsied. She will also be getting spayed. She currently has a tentative diagnosis of hydrometra. In addition to all that- she has to have the majority, if not all, of her teeth removed because of extreme dental disease that has never been treated.

We are asking for our communities assistance again to help make sure this little girl can get all she needs.

Meet Shortie!

This gorgeous girl is a Munchkin and Persian mix, she is about 2 - 3 years old.

Her first family abandoned her and her amazing foster found her and took her in. With love and care Shortie has learned to be an amazing companion to her people!

Shortie is good with other cats and small dogs.

Shortie loves to play with toys and chase wand toys around the room.

Shortie loves her wet food and comes rooming into the room when she hears the can.

Shortie has a lot of personality for such a little body!

Shortie’s ideal home would be older children if any and another cat or small dog to hang out with if you are not home.

Shortie just had a very extensive dental surgery and has only a few teeth remaining. This does not bother her at all, in fact she is quite happy about it!

Shortie is a laid back girl who is ready to go home for the holidays!

Shortie is spayed, litter box trained, vaccinated, microchipped, treated for parasites, dewormed, on flea and tick prevention, will be spayed and so much more!

Eva update! Come meet her this Wednesday, read post for details

This is our amazing girl Eva, who was attacked with a machete just over 3 to 4 weeks ago! She is making an amazing recovery.

Thanks to all of her donors her bills at Yolo Veterinary Clinic clinic have so far been covered! We are still accepting donations for her continued care as she still has several appointments to come.

We are going to bring her out this Wednesday to Blue Note Brewing Company from 5-7 pm to meet anyone who wants to come say hi!

While she loves other dogs we do ask that you don’t bring yours up to meet her because she wants to play but is still on restricted activity until her staples are removed next week.

Meet Oliver!

This sweet 6 month old boy is a chocolate Scottish Fold British Shorthair cross.

Oliver is a delicate soul who is the sweetest cuddle bug. He loves to roll over on his back and let you give him gentle tummy rubs.

Oliver is a toy fanatic and loves his wand toys, he grabs them and pulls them away making noises. It is so cute to see him so excited.

Oliver loves to nap and sun bath but will also follow you around the house like a shadow watching what you are doing throughout the house.

Oliver is looking for a home with older children if any and he needs another friendly cat in the home. He does not want to be in a home with large very active dogs, it makes him very anxious and nervous.

Meet Mini!

This pint sized love bug is about 4 months old and ready to come home with you!

Mini was abandoned in a feral colony where her amazing foster mom found her and brought her home. When she went out to feed the feral cats Mini came running up and into her arms

Mini is an absolute cuddle bug and likes to sleep on the bed with you. She’s good with other cats with the proper introduction, this is more for her safety because she is so friendly.

Mini loves toys and she is a true kitten that would flourish with a playmate! Mini loves her people and her food

Mini will come running when you call her name and she has too much personality for her little body!

Meet Meredith Grey!

Meredith Grey is a 12 month old female Scottish Fold.

Meredith is such an amazingly sweet girl. She loves to be around her people and watch everything you are doing.

Meredith is a confident girl once she knows she is safe.

Meredith loves to check out what you are doing and will sit on her back legs and check everything out! It is s o cute!!!

Meredith loves her cardboard scratchers, she scratches and sleeps on them. She will sleep anywhere, a basket, scratcher, under the couch, on the window sill, literally anywhere she feels like lounging.

Meredith loves scratches and is very good with dogs but we are looking for a home with respectful dogs that have ben around cats. She will hold her own but the dogs need to be gentle.

Meredith would love to have kids in her home but it is not required.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!
As many of you know, our rescue Yolo County Spay and Neuter Group, takes on a lot of medical cases and rarely do we post about the case details unless we feel the story NEEDS to be told and we need help funding the care.

On Wednesday we were contacted by Tulare County shelter. They were desperate to find help for a dog that had been attacked and almost killed. They were all horrified by what they were dealing with. Someone had clearly tried to kill the dog, and had almost succeeded.

After hearing the details we knew we had to help! Eva came to us the next day.

Eva was attacked with a machete! Some heartless human hacked at this sweet dog until she had over a dozen lacerations, some very deep and life threatening.

Eva received the worst of the machete lacerations to her neck and the base of her skull.

We don’t know how she escaped, but she must have crawled her way home. Sadly, she made it home only to have her owners leave her without medical care for a minimum of a week!

By the time the shelter was informed and took her in, her wounds were infected and infested with maggots! They cleaned the wounds and stitched them up and stabilized her as much as they could. She was then sent to us.

Once she made it to us we were able to get her into our vet, Yolo Veterinary Clinic, and our amazing rescue vet Dr. Hsu got to work on opening and cleaning all the wounds. Her team had to reopen and clean the major wounds She also found several scabbed but infected wounds that also needed to be opened and cleaned while Eva was under anesthesia.

Eva has a long road to recovery that will include wet dry bandage changes all weekend at Woodland Veterinary Hospital and further care with Yolo Veterinary Clinic next week.

Despite all she has gone through Eva is one of the sweetest dogs we have ever met. She meets everyone with a wagging tail and kisses. Her tiny 35 pound frame took so much trauma we are amazed at how loving and trusting she still is.

Right now our bill at Yolo Veterinary Clinic is close to $1500. Tomorrow we will be paying an emergency fee of $190 to have her seen and her bandages changed at Woodland Veterinary Hospital and this is just the beginning of her care.

Eva is looking at having at least another wound cleaning, possible drains, sutures, more pain medication, blood work, more or different antibiotics, more bandage changes and so much more.

We are asking for your help. We would appreciate anything towards Eva’s care, even $1 helps.

Update #2 : her vet bills from Friday - Monday are covered! She is doing great and we have scheduled surgery to close her three largest wounds (on her neck) for Wednesday!
She will come back with stitches and at least one drain - the estimate for Wednesday is $1496.28
Once again we are in shock and so appreciative of everyone who has donated and we are hopeful donations continue for her ongoing care💕

Bunny is a 2 year old female golden Retriever!

Bunny is a super sweet energetic girl! She loves everyone and loves to be as close to you as she can.

Bunny loves to play and run around but is currently on a weightless journey she needs to continue in her forever home.

Bunny is far to interested in cats to go to a home with them but she loves other dogs! She is great with people and does calm down after she is properly exercised.

Meet Ricky Bobby!

Ricky Bobby is a labrador mix, who is about 2 years old! This handsome boy has been with us for 9 months looking for his forever home!

You could not ask for a better boy! He has been passed up time and time again because of his size, he is a stable 75 pounds of cuddles and love.

Ricky loves to play with other dogs and does really well with large breed female dogs.

Ricky is great with cats and children as well! He loves people and is so sweet and gentle with cats and small dogs.

Ricky has all his basic training, is crate trained and so well behaved he is a monthly blood donor at UC Davis!

Ricky loves to let us dress him up for holidays or events, he even lets the kids paint his nails!

Meet Kevyn!

Are you looking for a handsome partner in crime? Meet Kevyn! This handsome 1 year old purebred Doberman truly devotes himself to his people.

Kevyn loves people of all ages and is very gentle with children. He also respects and loves to be around other dogs and cats!

Kevyn has been working with our rescue trainer and passed all his training with flying colors! The trainer says Kevyn is a star pupil.

Meet Tito!

Tito is such a good German Shepherd and Labrador mix! This handsome boy is about 10 months old and 65 pounds.

Tito had a heart breaking start to life when the people who had him and his siblings dumped them all on the freeway. Tito was the one to make it off the freeway by curling up into a ball and crying until one of our volunteers saw and pulled him into her car.
Tito has since built up his confidence and come out of his shell. He is a complete love bug who wants to be with his people as much as possible. He loves to cuddle and we joke he tells us all about his day.

Tito is good with other dogs and is respectful of cats. He is a large breed puppy and would be too much for young children.
