It is with a very broken and heavy heart to recently find out Milo's life will be coming to an end soon.... After multiple hospitalizations, an internal medicine and cardiologist consult, recent blood work is showing poor prognosis. The results show his kidneys are working less and are now completely fluid dependent. We are currently doing an aggressive fluids therapy for a week in hopes this will bring his levels down and support his kidneys. We retest his levels next week. His internal medicine specialist said if he doesn't pass naturally and the kidneys completely shut down. I may have to make what will be the hardest decision I'll ever have to make. Currently, I owe over $600 at his primary care doctors, around $450 for his internal medicine consult and around $650 for his cardiologist consult. His bill will continue to go up due to daily fluid therapy, weekly to bi-weekly bloodwork and medications to manage his heart disease, kidney failure, and high blood pressure. My boy is a fighter, and I truly believe he is still with us and pushing forward because of how much he is loved. He is currently only eating his snacks once every other day sometimes every 2 days. He has dropped from 16 pounds to 9 pounds. I will continue to do everything in my power to continue to keep him comfortable and manage his kidney failure. I just need a little help, and anyone that actually knows me knows I'm not one to ask for help and usually suffer in silence, but my son is dying and business is not the best at the moment. The beginning of the year I usually had around 40 hours each week, and I've been reduced to averaging around 20 to 25 hours a week. Which will probably continue to drop until the end of the year. My family is struggling with multiple things at the moment and things just haven't been going right for a while. So I've decided to put this up in hopes to raise enough money to continue paying for his treatments and future end of life care. Thank you for your time and donations. ❗ A mysterious yet highly contagious disease is affecting dogs across the US and is similar to the symptoms of kennel cough or canine influenza. Be on the lookout for signs of upper respiratory illness in your dog, such as sneezing, coughing, nasal and/or eye discharge, and lethargy. If you suspect your dog may be affected, contact your veterinarian.

🐶🍂 As much as we’d love to include our furry family members in our Thanksgiving celebration, the menu selection for pets can be tricky. Even a small amount of turkey skin can lead to a life-threatening condition called pancreatitis, and many other Thanksgiving staples are poisonous to pets.

Here is a list of Thanksgiving foods to keep away from animal companions — and a few you can share. Keep in mind that even “safe” foods can be dangerous if you feed too much.

If your pet likes to scavenge, be sure to clean up leftovers as soon as your meal is over and keep trash cans tightly covered. If you’re having guests over, remind them not to feed table scraps to your pets — no matter how much they beg!
