Hi everyone, my name is Gretchen and I am a three or four year old, really special girl that's looking for a family to love. I am a purebred Beagle girl that weighs 35 lbs and I found myself homeless in a small town in Tennessee. People said that I was roaming the neighborhood for a while and no one knew who I belonged to. I ended up in the shelter and I was pretty scared the first day because of shelter is full of strange smells and lots of barking. Everyone is nervous and confused at the shelters. But they made me feel at home and introduced me to so many different people and even the other dogs and cats. I am a happy girl and they tell me that I'm quite pretty too. Noone knows much about me except that I have a sweet smile, a great personality and I love people. I promise that I will be your cuddly snuggle bug and your best friend forever. I am looking for a Beagle loving home and would welcome children as a part of my life. I also can live with other dogs and even cats because they have tested me with everything and said I'm pretty perfect. This is Zinnia, our adorable and perky little bundle of energy. As a mixed breed of Lab and Hound, she will grow to a 45+lb size adult. Actual final size is just a guess and who doesn’t need a little mystery in their life? Zinnia is white with large black spots and lately we are noticing a few black freckles appearing here and there each week. She may be a bit like a small Dalmatian one day!
Zinnia feels that she is a large dog deep in her soul. She is first out the door, first to find treats, first to try toys, etc. All of this to say that she is an extremely bright and intelligent little puppy. She is very fond of meals and prefers to have her own bowl. She likes to be busy, busy, busy. Once she has exhausted herself, however, she’s ready for a snuggle and a nap.
Zinnia is crate-trained, meaning her crate is a comfort space for her at bedtime or when you’re not home. She is not housebroken, but that skill will not take long to accomplish. She is a smart little lady about everything she tries in life. Although Zinnia is cute and small, we don’t think we can recommend her to a house with young children. She is very active. She does not always want to be cuddled, although she is very affectionate and playful and a young persistent toddler might not get her signals to not cuddle at the time. How cute is this little girl? She won’t always be little. Who knows how big she’ll get? That’s one of the best parts of adopting a rescue puppy. This is Moonbeam, a precious tricolor pup of unknown parentage.
Moonbeam is a sweet, gentle and soft-spirited puppy. She’s the largest of our current foster pup family. But, she’s the first to come looking for a hug or a lap to curl up on. She loves to chase and wrestle with the other puppies. After a bit of whining, she will play with toys by herself.
Moonbeam is crate trained. So, a crate is a readymade space for her to sleep and hang out for comfort and security. She’s not housebroken, yet. But, it won’t take her long fo catch on to that.
Who doesn’t need a bit of Moonbeam in their life? Especially when it is this precious and will grow into a beautiful lifelong friendship.

Natasha is a beautiful 12 week old Doberman/Rottweiler puppy and shows off the best of both of these strong and intelligent breeds. She demonstrates that every fiber in her body is smart and confident while easy going with a lot of love for the humans around her. She adores children and is so casual with the other animals at the farm that she is being fostered on. She's good with every creature and is great with kids, cats and has been exposed to all sizes and personalities of dogs and loves them all. Natasha has a wonderful foster mom that loves to train her puppies up to be exceptional canine companions. She has taught Natasha skills for walking on a leash and she is taken for walks while also learning to listen to commands. Natasha especially loves to go for walks even with younger children at the leash. This old girl is going to be a prize for a Rottweiler Doberman loving family.. she will need a fenced in and secured yard for safe play and we will ask that concentrating be provided for her so that she can polish her potential to the maximum. AWESOME NEWS Celine has been adopted and went to her FUREVER HOME!
Just look at this face! A face that you just want to squeeze and squish and kiss and hug and cuddle. This little girl, well actually not so little, her name is Celine and she was born June 1st to a Bulldog mix Mama who must've met up with a Great Pyrenees daddy in the background. DNA does show that Great Pyrenees is strongly present. Just look at those paws! Right now she weighs 22lbs and probably on her way to being a beautiful 75lb adult girl. Celine is a sweetheart and so loveable, while being very slow moving and deliberate. She lounges around the house a lot and she wants to crawl up in your lap like she's a Chihuahua. As you can see, Celine has dreamy, sleepy time eyes and face while having the heart of a cuddler. She is a relaxed puppy with the curiosity and laid-back demeanor of the Great Pyrenees breed. This girl will make you slow your pace a bit and just sit and watch the world go by. She just has this tranquilizing effect on you when you're around her. This beautiful 5-month-old girl is named Aurora and she is definitely going to be the light in someone's life. She is a 35 lb puppy that is looking for a stable home with German Shepherd knowledge. Her mom is a German Shepherd and we think Dad might have been a purebred husky. She obviously takes after her mom's looks and the only thing close to a husky is that she loves to talk. No matter whether she is happy or scared, she will talk. She has not had a stable upbringing and we are looking for home that will give her perfect environment to thrive. This girl gets along with any and every other dog and cat. She had a rough start to life after just having left the stressful confines of the breeder home that she was living in. We love this girl, she loves playing with the other pups and sitting in your lap and snuggling. Her breed is a confident breed but does have its own insecurities that most German Shepherd owners know all about.

This little reddish brown Lab mix girl is called Brown Sugar and she is definitely ready to make your life sweeter if you bring her home. She is a rare find, we think she is about 6 months old and is 45 pounds. She is a beauty! This pretty face and unique shape to her ears make her very special as well as her great personality, she is a lover and a big fan of belly rubs. She rolls over and gladly offer you the privilege to rub her tummy as she rolls her eyes in the content. Such a shame for a puppy to have spent days and weeks in a prison of boredom and no love at her former shelter. Now in her foster home, she is thriving, loves playing with her foster siblings, play ball, carry sticks (the bigger the better), shes the best of both worlds as she is calm when alone and when she's with other pups has a fun, playful energy! To be honest, we would break your car window to save an animal or child regardless of the penalty in doing so!

As a heat dome grips much of the U.S., dogs left in cars are in danger. Thankfully, 31 states allow using “reasonable force” (e.g., breaking a window) to rescue them. (I would argue that despite the consequences, ethics allow — and if death or serious injury is imminent, compel — it in all 50 states.)

While the 31 state laws tend to be very similar, they have specific requirements. Florida, for example, provides that “A person who enters a motor vehicle, by force or otherwise, for the purpose of removing a vulnerable person or domestic animal is immune from civil liability for damage to the motor vehicle” if the car is locked, the person has “a good faith and reasonable belief” that breaking in is necessary because the dog is in imminent danger, the person contacts law enforcement immediately before or after doing so, and then remains onsite until law enforcement or medical help arrives. In other states, the law only authorizes animal control officers and law enforcement to break in.

Add brewery trips to Louise's resume! Camp Cocoa's counselors brought this beauty out to Vigilant Brewing on Saturday and, boy she was loving all the attention! She was a little nervous but man did she shine velcroing up with anyone she met!

We have had this girl since February, no fault of her own! If you're looking for a sweet, over 1 year old companion, this is your girl! Great with other dogs and learning to live with cats!

We are sending our love and utmost condolences to our good friend Elijah R Grasso and his family for the loss of our dear Livvie girl. Livvie was a smiley, happy girl who, despite her health complications and having a leg amputated, never let it slow her down or damper her sweet personality. Everyone who met her just loved her and we will certainly miss seeing her around Camp. We love you Livvie and you will be forever memorialized here at Camp Cocoa. We are thankful for all the support Elijah has given us and with his donations, Livvie will be forever posted here on our website and in our hearts.🙏🌈🐾🧡💛💚

Update: Adopted! These two beautiful pups are Jet and Ireland! Two purebred Australian shepherds, Jet is full size and Ireland is a mini. These two need some time with people that will show them that not all people are bad. They are petrified... this just shows how bad buying from breeders can be. These dogs were only cash cows for them. Ireland is an 8 month old female and Jet is an 6 month old male, both were left at the vet because the breeder didn't want them anymore. After their first week at Camp Cocoa, they are doing better by the day but we think they would really benefit from being in a home with people on a regular basis. They need to learn how to be loved, they are great with other dogs. Ireland does not like to be jumped on by small puppies and she will put them in their place. Probably a product of being stuffed in small kennels with other puppies. Jet is a bit more outgoing and we consider him Ireland's protector but this boy is too gentle to hurt a soul. If you can help by fostering or adopting these two cuties, send us a message. They can be adopted or separate which we feel will be good for them. They are the sweetest pups who just need some time to heal from their traumatic beginning in life and for us to show them how much more life has to offer.

Update: Adopted! My name is Jamison and I am a 3 year old 17 pounds Jack Russell mix boy that is the calmest little guy you will ever meet. I am looking for a home after me and my son were abandoned on a remote country back road in Tennessee just recently. We were covered in ticks and very sad to be left there on the side of the road. Fortunately a kind couple came along and saw us and picked us up to keep us safe. We were not microchipped and we were not neutered. Immediately we were so grateful for the kindness of this family. Soon Critter Cavalry Rescue stepped forward to help us find a great home. I am a really rare rescued dog. I am mannerly in the house, quiet around the family, easy going, housebroken and I love people and other dogs. I probably will be good with cats if you try me as well. I am just one of those easy going dogs that goes with the flow. I love car rides and will be your shotgun partner in the passenger seat and will be very still while you drive. I am good on a leash and we could have so much fun exploring places and going on walks! I am ready right now to start a new life.
