Ziggy is just one of those dogs that grabs your heart and you just want to tell him that everything will be OK for the rest of his life. This handsome boy was literally dumped in a very rural area of Middle Tennessee with his siblings. They found a house that they adopted and decided to hang out there since the people were not shooting at them and trying to make them leave. They didn’t have a place to come inside during the summer and two of the siblings who were easy to catch were soon fostered and adopted to wonderful homes. Ziggy decided to drop his guard and let the humans touch him and love on him. Now he is ready for a forever home that will be patient and loving to him as he explores the delights of having a dog bed, a meal that is ready for him each day and the promise that he will be the center of some family’s life one day. Ziggy is 11 months old and weighs 50 pounds and we consider him to one of those wonderful Heinz 57 dogs that might have 12 different breeds mixed in. What we see is Lab and Hound and a sprinkle of so much more that makes him unique in every way. One thing we do know is that Ziggy’s soul is thirsty for love and acceptance and the ultimate thing that has always escaped him in from the very start…security. For his entire life he has never been promised anything. Never knew where he should live, where he would get a meal or if someone would be kind to him. Nothing steady and certainly nothing secure. He has Critter Cavalry’s promise for all that and more. Ziggy is good with dogs, cats, young children and even meeting adults is something he does pretty well now. Ziggy is a gentle soul that is a little nervous still because his foundation of trust and stability has just now started being built. This handsome boy is Asher, at 11 months old, he's an energetic and playful yet affectionate boy, who is full grown at around 60 lbs. He gets along with the majority of other dogs but sometimes a little too rough. He's smart and knows basic commands as well as is fully potty trained. He loves people and attention but needs a strong leader to help him to continue to fine tune his manners and training. He does love a snuggle on the couch with his person.

My name is Elsa and I used to think I would live out my life with a family that adopted me as a puppy and had children that I loved playing with. Just recently they decided that they couldn't keep me and I really don't know if the excuses were valid but I ended up at the shelter in East Tennessee and they contacted a volunteer with an amazing rescue to see if they would come get me. The shelter people knew I didn't belong there and that I was getting depressed. I went into boarding while I got all vetting including a microchip and spay. I'm an easygoing girl that does have energy because I'm a 3-year-old 50 lb doodle. Because I have poodle in me I'm extremely intelligent and I love physical and mental activities. I know how to sit and how to shake and probably other commands if someone will just show me the ropes and what to do. I'm housebroken I'm crate trained I'm pretty much the ideal Parti Doodle girl. Some people tell me I'm a showstopper.
I walk very well on a leash but certainly can polish those skills with someone that does this with me daily. I love other dogs and I'm good with cats. There's really nothing bad that I do in my life, but the fact that I'm homeless is a sad part of my life. I hope someone will make me their very own that has a fenced in backyard and maybe some kids to play with and I can play fetch and tug of war and run happily in the backyard while they laugh at my antics. It would be a great Thanksgiving to share a turkey leg with a real forever family.

These two were both searching for specific homes when they found each other at Camp Cocoa. We aren't sure how to explain it but it's like they just clicked when they met here and understood each other, it's touching and relieving that they are finding such happiness in foster care. We strive to keep every dog comfortable and happy as you can see here.

Gretchen and Benny have been back and forth from here a few times now from separate homes that didn't have quite the right fit for them. We do know they both love other dogs and do best around them. We are hoping , maybe, just maybe, some chance they get adopted together... It's a long shot but we are just throwing it out there! This here is R***r a good ole lover he is quick and smart on the trigger and certainly would be the sheriff of your heart. As a bobtailed Aussie at about 18 months old with awesome manners and a head tilt that would make all the women faint. No outlaws would get past him and he certainly would listen to his Mayor.
