Hookworm Larvae in a fecal sample
We ALWAYS recommend checking a stool sample annually to check for intestinal parasites. This sample is from a stray kitty that was found. She had hookworm eggs (not shown) and larvae moving in the sample under the microscope. After a dewormer those nasty parasites will be gone! :)
Cardiac Ultrasound
This is the cardiac ultrasound from a 4 year old kitty which presented with lameness. It shows a massively enlarged left atrium secondary to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. If you watch carefully (sorry the video is only 3 seconds) you can see a blood clot floating around in the left atrium. Unfortunately, a blood clot had already passed through the mitral valves and blocked the blood flow to the rear limbs. :(
