Flying Duck Farm Horse Sanctuary

Flying Duck Farm Horse Sanctuary "A forever home for those in need." Each and every day I am looking for ways to expand to help more animals and people.
(5)

It started out with a few ducks (hence the farm name) and now we have chickens, goats and horses along with cats, dogs and bunnies. I am fortunate enough to have a number of our horses sponsored by some of our great supporters. This helps me continue to do what I do for animals. I don't like labels, but if necessary I'd say this is a sanctuary. There are too many animals and people out there that

need help and I want to do what I can. This is a safe place that is what matters. I've always loved helping animals and people and am slowly incorporating the two. About half of the animals we currently have are rescued animals that have come here to get/be healthy, loved and safe. My thoughts are NEVER give up until you've tried everything possible. Everyone and everything deserves a shot at a GREAT life! Life isn't a contest of who can have the most money or items, its about what you do with your time.

Do you like horses?
Do you like Hot Cocoa?
Do you like cookies?

If you answered yes to these questions then you will like “Cocoa and Cookies with the horses!”

This December we will be hosting “Cocoa and Cookies with the horses” at our farm. There will be a limited number of tickets available. Each guest will enjoy a variety of cookies, a hot cocoa bar as well as make a gingerbread Lego ornament to take home. Guests will also meet the sanctuary horses and have a chance for photo ops with some of the lil’s (mini horses.)

Stay tuned for more info this coming week.

Horses are such amazing animals. They have huge hearts. They can be big and tough…..yet gentle and compassionate.

Having a connection with a horse is an amazing thing. Something that is indescribable. If you know you know.

Today all of the horses at our farm met my new Grandson.
My personal horse Bermuda was very interested in baby Oliver.

Hopefully Oliver grows up to admire horses as much as we do.

Celebrating the newest member of our “herd.”
This evening I became a Grandma! I am in heaven!
Momma and baby are doing great. Morgan did awesome. She and Dylan will be great parents.

Before we know it little Oliver will be joining in on horse chores. I can’t wait to teach him all about animals, especially horses.

Thank you time!

Thank you to Evelyn for your generous donation! It will be put towards daily expenses for the sanctuary horses.

Also, thank you to my good friend Nico for the TSC gift card for the horses!

We survive because of donations and sponsorships. It’s how we cover all of the sanctuary costs. As a nonprofit we depend on these to continue doing what we do.

You really can’t get any cuter than this.

Goliath is a dwarf mini that has been at our sanctuary for many years. He was rescued from auction thanks to some great friends.

Goliath has volunteered for the Salvation Army as a bell ringer as well as visited nursing homes. He’s even ridden in an elevator.

He is the sweetest little guy ever.

Yesterday was a super productive day!

Thanks to the scouts a ton of poo was picked up from the fields. They literally worked for a few hours on poo! It was a huge help to Taylor and I.

After lunch they worked on a shelter for the goat and sheep with Matt’s help.

So thankful that Amanda reached out and brought the troop out!

Its notice that an anonymous person took care of Marsy’s emergency vet visit as well as Doodles emergency vet visit. As well as Marsy’s recent bottle of meds.

Your generosity is appreciated more than you know!

Thank you so very much!

Roo and his gang.
All of the sanctuary horses are special needs to some degree.
This group is our very special needs bunch.

Sunny is a senior that needs a large diet to ensure he maintains his weight. Especially due to his teeth being older and worn down.

Stewy needs a large diet as well being a senior with lack of teeth. Plus he deals with arthritis and lameness so his “sneakers” help tremendously with that.

Chloe has lameness in her back end and past founder issues.

Roo has arthritis and limited sight due to cataracts.

They may all have special needs but they are living their best life to the fullest.

Tonight after horse dinner chores we hung out with the neighbor and learned about the comet. Caught some pretty cool shots of the comet over the farm.
