Courtesty Post
Looking for horse rescuers, I know there are a few in our area but don't have names. So please share for help for this champ of a horse that has had a rough life but still wants and gives love to people.
Also this lady has collected fencing but isn't physically able to construct a nice pen for this horse, so help to build a pen would also be a big help. In the Woodville area.
Please message me with good reliable rescues.
From rescuer: Hi y'all... I recently rescued an older Saddlebred horse, by purchasing him for pennies...who was being grossly neglected and seriously misused, and I was told going to be sold to a kill buyer. Previous owner admitting he could not afford to feed this horse. Though I've seen him riding other horses who did not appear to be starving to death.
I didn't, still don't have a pen... this horse ...we did not think would make it the first night or 2nd night... We've had him now about 3,weeks. He looks and feels much better. He has a ways to go though...
I just wanted to put y'all in the loop.... I'm attaching a couple of pics of this old boy we renamed Pops.. We've discovered that he has a special connection with my husband, who has serious medical condition and needs a kidney transplant..
Pops is an amazing soul who, in his older age, amazingly enough... still loves people. A baby can crawl under him he is so sweet and loving.
I've collected some fencing materials to put up a makeshift pen for him. My back is broken... we don't really know anyone out here, still new to the area..and we are on a serious fixed income.
If y'all know of any equine resources for rescues, please let me know.
The few organizations I've networked with in rescues in the past are all at capacity... We originally had hoped to get him a joke with a pasture and other horses.
Looks like he's staying....honestly, he warms our heart...we have another rescue...over a year now...they have been bonding the last couple of weeks.
Well... I know Pops isn't a dog or cat...but he still deserves help!
