Welcome Clair Bradford to the Sigma Team!

Clair is the owner of Gypsy Spawtique in Waynoka.

She will be doing an apprenticeship under Jamie Rivas, the owner of Sigma Grooming, starting April 9 to better improve her skills and increase her knowledge.

Her clients will be able to keep their pricing that she offers if they chose to drive over and use her services while she is learning.

We are VERY excited for this collaboration and to help Clair on her journey to grow her business and provide the best she can to her clientele.

I will keep you all up to date as I will be adding her to our online calendar so that you can book with her in advance and keep your regular schedule of grooming.

We will also be offering discounted services for specific breeds during those weeks so that she can have access to those breeds and to improve her skill work and pattern setting skills along with scissor technique.

Do you have a double coated dog?

Now is a great time to do some coat care 🧥 with all this cold weather blowing in! ❄️

Here are some great reasons why we care so much about the care of your pets coats!

🧥 functions as a natural ventilation system
🧥 a dense undercoat will trap cool air against the skin allowing for proper temperature regulation
🧥 it provides for cooling in warmer temperatures and provides insulation in colder temperatures
🧥 the top coat or outer coat protects against moisture and dirt
🧥upon visual inspection a healthy coat will allow you to see the nice pink skin under the coat (can’t see the skin … it might be time for a deshed)
🧥proper coat care can last anywhere from 6 weeks to 3 months depending on nutrition, how often you brush your dog, and whether your pet stays indoors or likes to be outside more. (We will discuss this later 😊)

🧼 let us give your double coated dog a good scrubbing to remove unwanted dirt and debris
🧼 let us use a specially formulated soap to help release any dead coat that can become impacted and prevent proper ventilation of the coat

🪮 let us comb out your pets coat in order to remove any under coat that is preventing proper ventilation and can lead to hot spots (bacteria) growing in your pets coat.

Dr. Barbie Phillips at Creation Chiropractic saw Zander on Monday and gave him some adjustments along with some laser cold therapy.

At the time I had rescued Zander he had a shock collar used on him with burns and deep puncture wounds to his neck. His hair was still singed two weeks after doing antibiotics and coming to see me for his grooming. He had been electrocuted in a stock tank with the shock collar on and still suffers from sensory overload. He had a broken tail when I rescued him as well.

Her adjustments are correcting many of the postural issues he has and helping to have more flexibility and mobility in his joints.

We are doing stretches at home to help maintain and improve Zander’s mobility until his follow up appointment later in February.

Chiropractor care is such a beneficial part of health and care for your pets.
