Upcoming Puppy & Basic Manners Classes!

We have only ONE spot left in each of these classes! Our Puppy class begins Tuesday, January 14, at 6:00 pm, and our Basic Manners class starts Wednesday, January 15, at 6:00 pm.

***New Class***

Puppy Socialization.

Did you know that the key socialization window for your pup is 8 to 16 weeks? Often, if a dog is not socialized during this time, they may develop hesitant or fearful behavior with other dogs and people. In this session, it is all about allowing your pup to play with other dogs their age in a safe and fun environment.

I am really excited about these sessions, and the cost is ONLY $15 for a 30-minute playtime.

The first session will be on Saturday, January 18, at 10am. Sign-up is required.

**Christmas Contest**

Christmas is a season of light! Take a picture of your pup with the beautiful lights of the season. From lighted trees to outdoor displays, snap a photo and post it in the comments below.

The picture with the most likes will receive a $10 Petco gift card. Tag your friends and rack up those likes! Remember the more likes your photo gets the greater your chances of winning. This contest will run through Monday, December 16 at 7:30 pm.

Are you thinking of getting a puppy for Christmas or deciding to rescue a dog from a local shelter? That’s awesome, but here are some things you need to consider.

When looking for different breeds of dog, it’s important to not just look at the outside appearance of a dog, but all the things that the dog requires.

Dogs need plenty of exercise - THIS IS A BIG ONE. Along with physical exercise, their mental stimulation is also just as important. Shedding level, social level, are they a great family dog or tend to connect well with one or two people are also valuable things to consider. Also note that your new pup will need to be trained to some extent whether that’s a few basic behaviors or more in-depth training.

ALL dogs need love and attention and if you do not have the time currently maybe wait untill you have the time to devote to that pup. Remember, dogs are a lot of work and require a lot of much-needed attention.

And always, always, always, choose a reputable breeder if deciding to buy a puppy!
