will be looking for experience people to lead horses, no experience needed to be a spotter, helmet fitting and disinfectanting

if it can go wrong, it usually will.
as some of you are aware of, our regular hay guy ( and personal friend ) died of leukemia last year. after sharing all of our text's with his mother ( that's where the hay was stored )she agreed to honor our agreement.
that was short lived.
I just found out she sold the balance out from under me!!
it's a damned shamed people can't honor their word.
so, I'm looking for a new supply, round bales.

not sure how long this weather is supposed to last, hope I can get through it.
it's keeping volunteers away, and doing everything is taking me forever!!
I know, it's my responsibility, and I'll do it, but it's times like this I'm ready to throw in the towel!!
on a good note, 8 we're rehomed in 2022, THANK GOODNESS!!!
But it still leaves 9....

since we don't typically just ask for donations, we usually do events, that means that this time of year money coming in is hit and miss.

we have a barn full of hay we're paying on, vets bill and barn lease.

those that do birthday fundraisers for Tall Pines help more than you know.

it's that time again!!

Needing extra hands.

September 13, I could use 1-2 people to help while farrier is here.

September 15 and 16 to help bath horses for the 17th.

September 22 and 23 for the 24th

September 29 and 30 for the 1st and 2nd.

September 17,24 and October 1 for our Bauman orchard events in Rittman

October 2 we have a church festival in Wadsworth.

Need handler's, spotter's, helmet fitters and cleaners, sign up table.

9 am til 4? ( or until there's no line )
Ideally need 12-14 people.

I'll supply coolers full of drinks, you need to pack your own lunch.

July 30th Saturday.
Johnny Appleseed festival in Apple creek
the rescue will start setting up at noon.
roads will be closed off shortly after til about 2 for the parade. pony rides start at 3 and will go til 7ish.
we need pony handlers ( experienced ) and spotter's.

let us know ASAP.

the rescue needs events for pony rides. we have 2 at the orchard in September, and a Church event in September. then 1 in October at the orchard.
we'd like to find some for July and August as well.
ideas??
only requirement is, that during the time we'd be there, there can't be fireworks or hot air balloons. that would be a train wreck waiting to happen.
events need to be within a reasonable distance from the rescue. no more than an hour away.

as some of you know, we've been looking for a smaller horse trailer. we have an older 3 horse slant with dressing room, but it intimates me to pull it. another trailer would really help with our events.

we found an older 2 horse straight load, in REALLY good shape. owner is willing to work with us, but can't wait forever.
2800$ and it's ours.

let's all welcome our newest "Troll" Shelly Carmichael!!

not sure why I feel a need to even try and explain this, but...

in our opinion, Shelly Carmichael, Ronnie Donald's and Jenny Cassidy ( and sure more to come ) are all the same people.
Their wording is ALL the same, their profiles were all created about the same time, their likes are almost identical.
This right here is the reason we started a private "group" ... only approved people are excepted.
it's pretty obvious, that this person doesn't have a clue in how rescues operate!!
we have ideas on who this really is ...

the rescue has a few minis mares and a Rocky mountain mare looking for new pastures.

The Rocky has been riden many times, but with no professional training. she's about 20 years old, chocolate w/flaxen mane and tail. I would not consider her husband or child safe. she doesn't buck, rear or bolt, just gets excited. only ever ridden her in a Doctor Cooks bitless bridle.

one mini is tiny, maybe 8-10 years old. EXTREMELY sassy!! loves people, but does her best to try and intimate even the biggest horse lol.

then there's a paint mini. we've used her for pony rides and nursing homes.
unsure if age, but most likely 15+

all stand for farrier ( paint pony has foundered at some point ), paint has been body clipped before for parties.

Looking for like minded animal loving people interested in getting knee deep involved in the rescue.

Volunteers that are seriously interested in making a difference. Please, no fair weather people!! doesn't matter if it's a beautiful day or 20° below. animals require daily care. pick one day or 5, just understand, when you commit we all depend on that commitment!! Life happens, to all of us, and we totally understand, just be realistic in the hours you can devote to the animals.

Board members, many positions ready to fill!! an absolute must that you can freely give no less than 10 hours a week.
application and contract will need to be filled out. commitment for 12 months minimum from sign on. there will be a 60 day trial.

do you or someone you know need to complete community service hours?
we can help you with that as well.
