UPDATE: Thank you, community, for all of the love for this pup. We are buoyed by your compassion. We have now secured a local and trusted rescue partner to ensure his ongoing recovery.

We will let them decide when to announce his updates. Please allow them time to let him settle in and decide their next steps.

Please also be wary of any unauthorized organizations/people claiming to have helped and asking for your pledges or donations for his care.

We end the week with a plea to our community; is this your puppy?

This little who we think is only a few months old, followed someone along a trail near Mabury Road and Jackson Avenue. The brought him to us yesterday.

We don't yet know the substance that burned his fur off, but we know he's a sweety pie, and he'll heal slowly. He might always have scarring on his face, but he is otherwise healthy.

He had no chip and we'll need anyone claiming to be his owner to provide proof.

Reach out to us at [email protected] if he's yours. He's on until Aug. 26, if no one claims him he'll be available for adoption or rescue.

Burt's Brigade will be at , of course, and we're thrilled! This barely-hairy little Ninja dog does big things with his brothers Wyatt and Thomas and sister Crystal T. Looking to expand our food selection at the Pet Rock Festival - a benefit for the animals - on Sunday, Oct. 6, at the Lancaster Fairgrounds, MA. We are looking for food trucks/vendors who do, or can, or will serve vegetarian food only (vegan, even better) for this event. This event is HUGE, and this is the 26th annual --- but for the first time at this venue, so we are tapping into new vendors and resources. Please help us out! At our last RI event we were fielding many questions about why we help dogs specifically from China. I believe that the concept of the China meat trade seems too horrific for many to be true and more like an urban legend… as many of you already know it is all too real. Shortly after we started the organization last year, I spoke to Kerry at length to make sure I gathered all the right information to design an infographic that would accurately explain things. For those of you that don’t know why we help fund organizations like Candy’s Hound Rescue & Fast Friends Greyhound Adoption Center who are rescuing dogs out of China, this explains why.
