I wanted to give everyone an update on my unexpected Christmas gifts as the babies are now one week old.

Mama Anya is a rockstar and I believe we have a great home lined up once she is done raising these babies. Myla is going to be tested with dogs this weekend and depending on how it goes may also have a home as well. Mama is such a love and if I hadn’t promised my older cat that she would get to live out her days as an only cat and the queen of the house I would probably keep her myself.

Baby kittens feta, Gouda, Gorgonzola, munster, and mozzarella are improving every day. Gorgonzola who was the sickest is struggling a bit but he’s holding strong 💪. I do have a couple people I have given priority to on a couple of kittens provided all remain healthy and make a recovery once I know that everyone is good as we get closer I will start taking serious inquiries on these guys. I’m not sure whether their boys or girls it’s really too young to tell but they kind of all look like boys to me

Thank you again everybody who has offered advice and support and chipped in money towards the medical bills and care. This was a really sad situation but I’m glad that we have been able to help them.

Hi again!

A lot of people have reached out to me with interest in adopting a kitten when they’re ready I am making a list but I don’t want to take any serious inquiries on these guys until I know that they are going to be OK and get through this infection I just don’t wanna have to turn around and break anybody’s heart if things don’t go the way I want them to.

Momma Anya will be needing a home in about six weeks she’s very sweet has let me handle her babies without any issue and has seemingly adjusted to the stress of the last couple of days very well. My goal is to have her vaccinated and spayed prior to sending her to her new home and I would love to have a place lined up for when the time comes. We suspect she’s about three And she is just all around lovely but my very senior cat is enjoying her life as the queen of the castle and I want her to live out the rest of her days living her best only cat life.

Myla has a meet and greet pending we’re giving her a few days to decompress and then she’ll meet her potential new family

Thank you for your support and thank you to everybody who has donated money towards their care There’s nothing I love more than being able to help animals in need

Here’s an update on mama Anya and her kitty babies

We got settled around 5 o clock this morning and I was able to take a quick nap. The babies are nursing and Anya is a good mom.

I’ve named the older kitten Mylah she is meeting someone possibly later today. They’re stressed so if I can get her into a quieter spot I’d be super happy with that. It will be dependent on how it goes with their dog. She did have a run in with Tooty momma which went less than stellar but we’d also spent the night in the hospital and the 40 minutes from a car and into a strange place so I’m hopeful!

Kittens are estimated to be about 5 days old. I am unsure if they are male or female. Luckily they seem to be doing really well feeding off mom and aside from being sneezy they seem ok so far.

Mom has let me pet her and seems stressed but content. She’s used the litter box and the vet who saw us this morning said both girls appear to be healthy.

Thank you to everyone who has pitched in towards their care. And I will take any advice you have for this situation. I am definitely more experienced with dogs than I am with cats!

Good morning Everyone

Last night at 11 pm a plea from someone looking for immediate help had the cat distribution system bless Alexis and I with a momma cat, 5 5 day old kittens, as well as a 7 month old cat from a previous litter. It was clear when we picked them up the kittens werent feeling well so we took them straight to VEG.

The kittens spent several hours in an oxygen chamber and were diagnosed with upper respitory infections. I am just leaving the emergency room now with the fab 5 and their older sister and momma in tow. But it will likely be another hour or longer before I get everybody home and settled since I absolutely did not anticipate this when I left for work today.

That said I (Kara) am canceling my appointments today so I can get some supplies for these guys as well as make sure they’re gonna be ok. Stacey will reach out to everyone to let them know and I haven’t told her where to move everyone because I’m not sure so once I’ve had some sleep and have a clear mind because I want to make sure everyone will get their appointments in before Christmas.

There is absolutely no obligation but if you feel compelled to help towards their bill from tonight or to help with supplies my Venmo is kara-Kilian-1 or cash app is $karakilian (only one L in Kilian)

I absolutely cannot keep these guys and my hope is to have mom and big sis spayed and brought utd on vaccines prior to finding 🏠 🏡 for them. Sissy is available now (pic with yellow blanket) and the babies will be looking for crash pads once they are old enough.

Please don’t judge their previous owner. I know it’s easy to do but sometimes people end up in a bad spot and don’t know how to ask for help. They did and I am happy to help where I can.

We’re hiring for nights and weekends!

With lots of people going back to work in the office we are getting an influx of requests for after 5 PM and weekend appointments so we are looking to add some manpower so we can cover more appointments during that time

Requirements
you must have primary access to a reliable vehicle 90% of this job is driving from client to client this is not a position good for someone sharing a car with another person.

You must have previous experience with nail trimming for dogs cats rabbits and guinea pigs in a professional setting. I’m not in a position to be able to train a new person right now unfortunately and with the volume of work that we do we have to have somebody who feels confident in their ability. Ability to trim birds nails would be a bonus as we currently do not have anyone on the team who is comfortable with birds included (they scare the hell out of me lol)

You must be comfortable working with difficult animals. This is a service that most dogs do not love and a lot of the animals we see dogs especially have trauma attached to nail trims and we work very hard to make this a happy and comfortable experience for the dogs and the owners.

We use a lot of peanut butter on this job and while there are other treats that work close to as well as the peanut butter works nothing else works quite as well as peanut butter so this wouldnt be a great fit for someone with a severe peanut allergy.

I am looking for someone who is available weeknights and or weekends this position could be filled by one person who can do a combination of weekends and weeknights or two people who split exclusively or combination of both

Ideally it would be nice to find someone in the Danvers/peabody area and someone in the Worcester area to help cover nights and weekends in both general areas we cover.

if you’re interested please send your relevant experience to [email protected]

Position pays at $20 an hour plus commission and tips. you can make your own schedule based on what fits you best

Hey guys
We have seen a lot of aggression from incoming clients lately over our policy regarding only communicating via text and email and also because we will not give out other clients personal information so they can check our qualifications so I would like to clear some things up regarding those issues.

Why we will not call you
One thing some of our newer clients probably don’t know is I’m almost completely deaf in one ear I can’t hear anything on the phone anyway especially in my house with the amount of personal dogs I have.

I have to take all of the information you give me and put it into our software system and having it communicated via text or email ensures that all the information is correct and transcribed exactly as it’s given to us.

We are on the road sometimes more than 12 hours a day this cuts down on the risk of things being missed or forgotten about.

Why I will not give out my current clients personal info

I invite all new clients to do their research and check qualifications and I truly hope that you do that prior to inviting anyone into your home, but that is the reason businesses reviews exist.

You cannot go into a Petco or any other local grooming salon and start demanding they provide you with their current clients personal and private information so you can check their qualifications.

I will not EVER give out a clients information for any reason even if that means losing a potential new client. That is a violation of trust and to be perfectly honest it’s creepy. There are lots of other ways to research the people doing services in your home or handling your pets without asking for the personal information of others. We have absolutely nothing to hide in an open book and a serial over sharer but any information you could possibly want is found on our website or page and if you have further questions I am always happy to answer them.

Thank you

Hey guys

Do I have any clients that are lawyers who work in contract law specifically pertaining to Facebook groups that could look at something and tell me if it’s legitimate or a scam? I’m not really even sure what I’m asking for to be honest but I have a contract in hand that I’d like to have looked at before I decide how to proceed.

A couple nights ago long time clients of mine, the Lavery’s lost everything in a house fire that unfortunately also took the lives of their pets including sweet Reuben who I have been working with for the last two years. I am broken hearted to hear this news during any time of year especially so close to Christmas. Fortunately their human family escaped
unharmed and they will still be able to make Christmas happen for their young daughters. I always have looked forward to seeing Mallory and Reuban and I will miss him very much. If you can donate please do. We will be donating a dollar for every service performed this week. No amount of money will bring back what they’ve lost but anything will help.

Hello
I wanted to reiterate some info and policies as we have seen several new clients and current clients who are not aware of the policies.

First for new clients I want to stress how important it is to be honest about your pets behavior in your intake. We are having way too many new clients not disclosing their pets true behavior in the intake and it is putting not only myself or my staff but also YOU and your pet at risk. If your pet is aggressive please be honest about it, it may mean that we are not the best fit but we are always happy to try but we do need to know what we’re walking into so we will plan our time and who we send accordingly. We carry muzzles but appreciate that if your pet requires one that you have one that you know fits them that they are acclimated to. There are so many reasons muzzle training is beneficial and this is just one.

If your you are told your pet needs to be medicated please do it! We hear so often that people don’t want to medicate their pet for “just nail trims” and we understand that, trust me I have a dog who needs iv sedation for her nails which costs me 400$ every time and I do this professionally. Our end goal is for you to eventually not have to do that but if medication is recommended give your pets the best starting point and medicate them. Nail trims may seem small but they are an integral part of keeping your pets joints healthy over time. We will work with them over time to get them off the meds but help us start them off right.

We will not encourage or reward bad behavior. 90% of our clients will ask us to not acknowledge dogs who are jumping barking ect until they calm down. This is something we will do across all clients so as not to reward behavior that most people feel is undesired. We are not mind readers and we do not know what you allow in your house It’s fine if your dog is excitable or excited but I will not tolerate rudeness to my staff for doing what 90% of clients have asked us to do.

We will always trim your pets nails as short as possible. We will not risk hurting your pet so they can have cute short nails or so that you can go extra time between trims. The same goes for dremmeling. We will dremel if they will tolerate it but we will not stress them out more so they can have smooth nails.

PLEASE stop trying to get around the 3 hour arrival window. it is one time every 4 to 6 weeks that you have to be in your house for three hours and wait for us. If we give people estimates and have to make last minute changes and then you’re not available because “you said you’d be here at this time” that causes other problems. It’s in the terms you agree to when you make the appointment and it has not changed in three years. We cannot accommodate you being first last ect and we cannot wait for you to come home there are 6 other houses in every window that are waiting for us and it is unfair to set those appointments behind because a handful of people don’t think that the rules apply to them. We do the 3 hour arrival window so we can route the appointments in a way that is the most geographically correct and also to allow time for pets who need a little extra time. We are getting 10 or more where are you or when will you be here messages PER DAY per tech when we are well Within the window. This takes time away from taking care of your pets. We will attempt to give you an estimate if it is a matter of medication only.

I am working very hard to be able to accommodate everyone and ensure we have adequate staffing including finding weekend and night staff right now. So there will be more appointments coming available hopefully in the current month. I have been having a rough time with my health these last few years so some things have unfortunately been put on the back burner.

Lastly A few people have reached out to me and said that they or their pet prefer a certain tech but they don’t wanna hurt anybodys feelings by asking for that tech specifically. I promise you we will not be offended if you tell us that. We know and understand that some pets prefer some people over others and we want your pets to have the best experience. It may mean waiting a little longer for them to have availability but we are always happy to accommodate whatever your pets needs and preferences are. Sadly Gina’s last day is Friday but we will work with you to find a tech that your pet will like if they prefer gina. I know a couple of her clients even preferred her over me so we will work on finding you guys the best match.

Hey guys
we are once again having issues with our software system deleting appointments. I have spoken to them on iple occasions and they’ve told me I’m wrong and it’s not happening 🙃.

If you have an appointment but have not received reminder texts please text us so it doesn’t get missed. I am actively looking for a new software but easier said than done.

I have also been super sick the last five or so days and my appointments today and tomorrow are cancelled Stacey will be reaching out to tomorrows appointments later today. I’ll hopefully be getting antibiotics tonight and be back Wednesday 😭.

12/07/2024

Hey guys!
Someone I believe from Webster messaged us to reschedule their appointment I believe I offered them this Monday but I don’t think I ever put the appointment on the schedule and now I can’t find the message if you spoke with me about rescheduling your appointment to be on Monday and haven’t received an E text reminders can you please reach out to me so I can make sure we don’t miss your appointment sorry about that!

Hi Guys!
We are watching the forecast and will hopefully be able to make a decision sooner rather than later about tomorrow’s appointments

We typically base our cancellations off of what the are schools are doing so if school is canceled for tomorrow nail trimming appointments will likely also be canceled for tomorrow in the interest of safety for our staff

We do tentatively have appointments available in the Worcester area for tomorrow barring weather related cancellations.

Announcement for Gina’s clients

Gina has decided to make a career change and her last day will be December 13.

Hot Diggity Dog for me so much more than my business it’s a team and it’s a family. I always want this to be a job where everyone benefits and not just me and I always want everyone on my team to do what’s best for them every if it means they won’t stay here forever.

Gina is the first (and so far only but she will not be the last) tech I hired and trained that had no previous professional nail trimming experience. I did not plan to hire an inexperienced trimmer when I embarked on this journey as I know myself and I’m not much of a teacher and a bit of a control freak but when we met I saw how well she interacted with the clients and knew she would be a great here. In the weeks that I worked with her before sending her off on her own i was able to teach her but also to learn a lot myself.

Gina was with us just under one year and in that time I was able to watch her grow not only as a groomer but as a person. Her love and care for animals was evident in her work and even though she will leaving the pet care industry I know she will bring that same love and energy into her not just her next position but anything else she does.

We are so proud of her for how far she’s come in the last year. Not just as a nail tech but as a person. We wish her the absolute best in her next endeavor and she knows that she will always have a place here if she wants or needs it.

She is booked several weeks out so if you are scheduled with her after the 13 we will be reaching out to some of you to shuffle some things around so that we can absorb her clients. I know that changing techs can be tough for some pets (and some humans) but we do have a great team of people here who will love your pets just the way she does.

11/30/2024

Hey guys

Because we have lots of senior clients, clients who are battling illnesses such as cancer and clients who have welcomed new babies who still have little to no immune system so we wanted to ask that please if your sick you wear a mask or reschedule your appointment.

We know a lot of people have an opinion on wearing masks and went definstley don’t mean to inconvenience anyone but it sucks when we get sick and have to cancel a day or multiple days worth of appointments which is an inconvenience to everyone involved especially during the holiday season and we also want to be especially cognizant of our more delicate clients because we see so many people in a day.

We greatly appreciate your consideration.
