Life on the farm.

Jack's gelding. The vet had trouble keeping him sedated. It took a lot longer than usual and was completely nerve-wracking.

Baby Ben! ...before he could make it down the stairs by himself. Such a sweet boy, we love him so much.

The new horse barn we got for Jack and the donkeys.

So, we have this old car port down by the lake that we never use, so we decided to turn it into a cabin...

Finished staining outside. Finished paneling inside.

Oh May...

Sold our first goats today. Frosty and Billy are going to a great new home where Billy will be strutting his stuff in the show ring and Frosty will become a herd sire. These are the first animals to leave the farm, so it is bittersweet. We made some new friends out of the deal, and I know they will be well taken care of. Thanks Afton and Ernie!

Caroline and Aunt Lee showing off the apple sauce they just made. One five-gallon bucket of apples made 12 pints of apple sauce, and it is delicious!

Finished haying yesterday, just in time to beat a big thunderstorm that rolled through last night. We mowed on Wednesday, raked on Friday, baled the 50 4x4 round bales on Friday and square bales on Saturday. Got 111 square bales up in the loft before noon on Saturday. It was very breezy and cool which was a nice treat. It's good to be done.

Look how big they're getting. They'll be bigger than Mama Merriweather soon.

The girls are becoming ladies. They are growing up to be absolutely beautiful.

The baby rabbits are really growing. We bought a scale today so we could see how much they weigh. It has been very hot the past few days, so we have been keeping a close eye on these guys to make sure they don't over heat.
