Karen Pryor 1932-2025
Karen Pryor was one of the most influential people in animal training. She helped pioneer the movement that you could train animals without force. She authored dozens of books, and started the Karen Pryor Academy so that her methods could be taught to other aspiring trainers. Her life’s work enriched millions of human-animal relationships, and the dog training world wouldn’t be the same without her influence. Rest in peace, Karen, and thank you for all you’ve done

Central Ohio Muttessori School grooming services are officially open!

This service is for COMS clients only, and is headed by Trainer Evan. Not only will Evan get your pup clean and shiny, he will use his behavior
knowledge to help make sure its an enjoyable experience. Gentle and patient care, play breaks and a quiet environment mean we can help every dog be their best.

Our tiered pricing allows us to customize for each dog and adjust for different cuts, etc. Please send us a message on the client app to get your dogs estimated grooming tier, preferably with a photo. If your dog hasn't seen a COMS trainer in six months or more, please select the "puppy/acclimation groom" as your first service. This will allow us to get reacquainted and build a
relationship before embarking on a full groom.
Grooming is currently available every other Sunday afternoon, with more days to be added in the future.

There are some new goodies in our lobby!
Two little entrepreneurs (who are also really great kids) have started a dog cookie business! As a woman business owner who also started young, OF COURSE I had to offer them a place to put their wares. Grab some while you’re in for class or picking your dog up from school!

It’s official! We are adding grooming as a regular service!
As with everything we do, we will do our best to make each groom a positive experience. We can work with dogs who need a little extra help feeling comfortable, or if you just want your dog groomed by a familiar face, we would love to help!
Grooming services will be available to our clients only so we can prioritize our Muttessori friends!

Our rolling enrollment puppy classes allow you to get in quickly, maximizing the irreplaceable time before your pups window of socialization closes!

Looking at current position statements from organizations like AVSAB (American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior), who are the leaders on veterinary care and behavior, they are abundantly clear that the outdated belief of avoiding socialization until vaccines are completed has no place in current standards. This is relevant because in many cases this fear of strangers or a particular group of people, results from lack of socialization during this critical period and can have lifelong impacts into adulthood.
