NEW CLASS!
You asked for scent work classes, and we listened!
Scent work is great for fun and confidence!
These classes will be taught in such a way that you can continue to competition, or just have fun at home.
Intro to scent will have two class start dates - Sept 8 @ 9am and Sept 22 @ 10:30
Beginner scent (for dogs already started on odor) will start Sept 22 @ noon

All classes are 6 weeks long and $175

Training tip of the day - Reasonable expectations!
Just like young humans, puppies do not have the same mental, physical and emotional capabilities that adults do, so it’s not reasonable to expect adult behaviors from them. Learn what behaviors are normal for each stage of your puppies life so you can better understand and train them!

🎉🎉🎉 WE’RE GROWING! 🎉🎉🎉

After five years of taking care of Central Ohio’s dog training needs, we’ve gotten too big for our britches!
We will be adding a second space right by our first (and keeping that one as well!) so we can accommodate more dogs, have more classes and have more fun!
Over the next few months we will be remodeling the space to make it our own. Keep an eye out for progress pics!

The dogs who started it all.
This is me, in my senior photos, circa 1997
The dog on the left was Pip, an extremely fearful, undersocialized pup that a lot of people told Tiffany to give up on. The dog on the right was Rebel, an extremely outgoing, intelligent and mischievous dog. These dogs challenged everything I thought I knew about dog training, and forced me to learn a whole new way of doing things. Watching my dogs learn to love training, and becoming a team with them is what made me want to become a dog trainer. All these years later, and I still love watching our clients as their eyes light up when their dogs learn, and seeing their relationship with their dogs grow.
I often tell clients with challenging dogs that those dogs will make them better trainers. They will, I speak from experience.

Let's talk about this photo. It's cute, except it's not. I see a dog who cannot get up without telling the child to get off. How do you think a dog is going to do that?

The 7 Golden Toddler Dog Rules:
#1: If a dog walks away from you, you DO NOT FOLLOW.
#2: Always leave room for the dog to walk away from you.
---that right there is 90+% of dog bites eliminated---
#3: We do not climb on the dog.
#4: We do not grab or pull on the dog.
#5: We do not hit or throw anything at the dog.
#6: We do not touch the dog's food.
#7: We do not go into the dog's kennel.

I promise these are not overly difficult concepts for littles, nor will they rob a kid of their bond with the family dog. It will deepen that bond, while keeping everyone safe.

"Oh, it looks like Moose is walking away from you. She is saying she wants a break. Let's play with this instead!"

"It's Moose's dinner time! Let's give her space to enjoy her yummies."

"That is Moose's room(kennel) and only she is allowed to go in there."

"If Moose wanted a break, could she walk away from you right now? No she really couldn't. Let's move away from the play house. You can keep playing but now she can leave when she wants a break."

In conclusion, ***parent your child or your dog will do it for you, and you will not like how they do it.***

“This is Matches. He is an 8 month old Pit Mix. He is well mannered and does great with other dogs. He also seems to be housebroken already. He came to us with some healing burns, either from boiling water or chemicals. Unsure which, but he is so good that I cannot imagine someone doing that on purpose because he is so sweet. The hair is growing back in and it is darker than his normal giving the adorable impression of cow spots. ❤️”

The weeks Dog Of The Week is Dixon!
Dixon is a charming senior Min Pin mix with a spirit as youthful as any pup. At a spry 14lbs and with a birthday in April 2014, Dixon’s adventure led him to our shelter after a solo journey that caught the attention of our caring dog warden.
Despite his age, Dixon is bursting with vitality and affection, eagerly awaiting a forever family to shower with his boundless energy. He’s a social butterfly, thriving on human connection and not shy about asking for your undivided attention with his irresistible gaze.

Dixon is a fan of cuddles and doesn’t hesitate to be scooped up into a warm embrace. During office hours, he’s our delightful companion, and while he’s crate-trained for the times we step away, he’s happiest by your side. He’s still mastering the art of ‘holding it,’ so regular walks and a consistent routine will help him perfect his house manners.

In his social circles, Dixon is quite the gentleman, getting along famously with both male and female dogs of all sizes. However, he’s a dog’s dog through and through, preferring a home without cats.
