Happy holidays from Paws in Balance! We are on our winter break until Jan 5th. The office will be closed while we spend time with family and end the year with some rest and recuperation.

Bimmer didn't want to be left out since all of his canine siblings come into for care. He came to check it out and get some help with his inflammatory bowel disease. He's taking his herbs and supplements like a champ and already feeling so much better!
He has explored the whole office and is officially in charge here! 😹

Taking in the gorgeous scenery before class starts! The office will be closed through next Tuesday while I am out of town for the advanced portion of the functional indirect osteopathy course. I'll post more later on what this means for your pet. But now off to fill my brain! 🧠

I realized yesterday when a long time client didn't know I treated cats too that I don't post enough kitties! So here is Paisley checking his notes to make sure I got it all right.
In case you don't know, I love cats 😻 (and have my own army at home!) and really love kitty acupuncture! They respond so well to acupuncture and I lovingly refer to them as my needle vampires because they love to suck up the energy during a treatment.
Common reasons I see cats in the office: arthritis, bladder issues, gastrointestinal issues, behavior problems, cancer, and on and on!
Most hang out in my lap for their treatment and find visits relaxing 😺

I missed posting for National Dog Day over the weekend so today we celebrate Atticus! This special guy is a regular at Paws in Balance as we do our best to help him age as gracefully as possible and work through some medical conditions thrown at him. Despite several chronic illnesses, this sweet boy always has a smile on his face and a wag in his tail. 💚

In case you didn't get enough puppy love from last weeks post, we had a puppy bonanza today! Meet Brio, Maddie and Mac who also wanted to join the Paws in Balance tribe like the rest of their family! It was a riot with all of these busy-bodies romping around the office today. And then to top off our pre-holiday celebrations, we had a surprise puppy visit when Maydr brought his new sister to his regular appointment! Welcome Sohlah!

What a difference a month can make! Wager is lucky that his big brothers and sisters know the benefits of chiropractic care so he gets to start at such a young age! Sometimes he just comes for the ride to their appointments because the office is so much fun. We have snacks and snuffle mats, it's a real party! 😊

Avalanche is one of our regulars in the office for management of her arthritis and mobility issues. Recently, we helped her recover from some dental issues that required multiple extractions (see her swollen face in the second pic?), now she is back to her normal beautiful face with the help of some laser and acupuncture!

We ended our day today helping Buzz get ready for his trip to OK for the AKC National Agility Championship. This is his serious listening face while we gave him a pep talk about paying attention, relaxing and having fun!

Thunder heard that laser doggles pics are all the rage and didn't want to be outdone! He was here this week for his normally scheduled recheck for his knees and recent liver changes but decided to pick a fight with a raccoon the night before 🤦‍♀️ So we added laser to his wounds to get him healed up ASAP!

Clem was in for his regular acupuncture and chiropractic session to help with his allergies and keep him feeling great. We added laser therapy to help with some increased inflammation in his facial folds and top of his head. We thought he was rocking his doggles!

Meet Enzo- he developed a sudden onset neuromuscular condition a month ago that has severely affected his strength, muscle mass and altered his go-go-go attitude. But he's still smiling and his mom isn't taking this sitting down. She has met with Neurology and Rehab teams and now got to come in this week to join the Paws in Balance family. I have lots of optimism for this guy and was elated to get an update the next day that he climbed 2 steps at home!!!! May not seem like a big deal but he hasn't been able to do any steps for over a month!

If you know me, you know I don't recommend products without truly believing in them and looking into the benefits. It wasn't a hard choice to add Myos to the products we carry in the office. Myos Pet Products have been a great addition for many of the PIB patients, including my own crew at home!

This month, we highlight Paws in Balance from Worthington, Ohio. Here's what Dr. Carrie Crouse had to say about MYOS!

"I initially looked into Myos after hearing some success stories from rehab practitioners that felt it was helping with post-op recoveries. After being convinced by the research, I brought Myos into my practice.

My practice focuses on acupuncture and chiropractic care and I have used Myos with a wide variety of patients. I most often recommend it for patients undergoing orthopedic or neurologic surgeries (ideally pre-op!), in geriatrics with aging-related muscle loss, and canine athletes for better muscle recovery and growth while training and competing.
