New turnout!
We are excited about all the work we’ve been doing around the barn. Last week we extended the round pen into a larger turnout. Watch to the end to see Scooter enjoying the grass!
Our Inaugural Ponies & Peppers Chili Cook-off was an amazing event, despite the rain! More than 80 people attended and the chili was on point. A special thanks to: The Powers Family, for bringing this fun event to TxTRC and doing all the coordinating, set up, etc. You guys are the best! Thank you to our wonderful volunteers for showing up early to prep and staying to help clean. And thank you to Trinity Valley Ranch for hosting this event at your location. It was the perfect spot!
Morning playtime at the barn. Pretty sure Zorro and Scooted just became best friends. 🫶 🥰 (Duke enjoyed Scooter’s company, too!)
If you visit the barn, watch out for our resident ghost! 👻 (thank you to Vinny for being a good sport and not “spooking” during his photo shoot)
Painting with Ponies
Here’s a recap of our fall Painting with Ponies event! It was so fun. We already have another one planned because the only thing better than painting with ponies is painting with ponies at Christmas time. 🥰
Hear Ye, Hear Ye! 📣 Cactus has an announcement. It’s ok if you don’t speak Horse, we’ve translated for you! Cactus says, “My favorite thing to do is share my years of experience with our riders. In my old age, I would really enjoy a nice arena for our rides! Please help make that happen by supporting Texas Therapeutic Riding Center today for North Texas Giving Day.”
https://www.northtexasgivingday.org/organization/txtrc
Caroline and Cactus are an amazing team! This is why we do what we do. Please consider making a donation to Texas Therapeutic Riding Center this North Texas Giving Day so we can build an arena and help more riders like Caroline! We currently have 50 riders on our waiting list, and an arena will help us accommodate more riders. You can donate here: https://www.northtexasgivingday.org/organization/txtrc
Joshua and Scooter's Story
Check out Joshua and Scooter's story! Joshua is a rider and also does a lot of work around the barn. This North Texas Giving Day, please help TxTRC raise enough money to build a new arena so our riders have a good place to work and practice for shows. Early giving has already started! You can donate here: https://www.northtexasgivingday.org/organization/txtrc
Hippotherapy at Texas Therapeutic Riding Center
North Texas Giving Day is coming up on September 21st. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year. This year, we're trying to raise enough money to build an arena at our new place. An arena will allow us to serve more riders in our community and expand our hippotherapy program. In this video, you can see how hippotherapy has helped one of our riders (she is Duke's Number One Fan!). Early giving starts now. We are so grateful for all of your support!
You can donate and help make our new arena a reality here: https://www.northtexasgivingday.org/organization/txtrc
Painting with Ponies was a huge hit! The event was sold out and everyone had a good time. The Pony Picassos were a crowd favorite, and it was so fun to see everyone’s art come to life. Stay tuned for details on the next one (maybe around Halloween?!).
Here are some highlights from yesterday! The horses got to try out their new pasture and as you’ll see - they loved it. Thanks again to everyone who came out and built this paddock for the herd - we are so grateful!
Day 1 of fencing our first turnout paddock went great! The herd is going to love daily turnout under these trees. 😍🌳🐴 We are in need of volunteers tomorrow to help complete this project - we’ll be starting at 8am and we’d love to have you join us if you’re available. Come join the fun!
TxTRC Bourbon & Bridles
The TxTRC Bourbon & Bridles event was amazing! Thank you to everyone who came out to support and celebrate our 5th anniversary with us at Herman Marshall Whiskey.
If you couldn't make it, you can still be a Leg Up Sponsor. Your donation will go directly towards funding our new facility and caring for the herd. And you'll get to come to our Leg Up Party! You can donate here: https://txtrc.betterworld.org/donate
{ and thank you to Speak Loud Media for the pretty video!}
Your favorite TxTRC herd says, “hay!” See any noses here you’d like to boop? 🤩🥰
TxTRC is thrilled to announce we will now be at our very own facility! Still located in Wylie, we are excited to be able to expand our program and continue to serve our community.
Originally a planned June 1st move, an unforeseen early move date means we still have quite a bit of work to do to get up and running.
Every day without riding means another day our horses aren’t able to do their magic for our clients and families.
Team TxTRC is calling for all hands on deck to help develop this amazing facility. Here’s how you can help:
1. We still have tickets to our 5th anniversary gala, Bourbon & Bridles! This event will play a huge roll in fundraising for our new facility and we’d love to have you join us! You can get tickets here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/bourbon-bridles-5th-anniversary-gala-tickets-546309003937
2. We have a great need for donations of all amounts as well as equipment for our new place. Please keep us in your thoughts if you are looking to make a charitable donation or have farm equipment that you no longer need.
3. There are some BIG and exciting projects coming up that we’ll need lots of volunteer help for! Let Tami or Shelby know if you can spare some hours helping with these projects.
As always, we are so grateful for every one of you and so excited to have you with us on this journey!

The TxTRC herd is enjoying Winter Break! ⛄️❄️
Happy Thanksgiving from the TxTRC crew! (especially from Cameron, who’s been hard at work making some pumpkin pie)
Team TxTRC - you are the very best. WE DID IT! 🥰🎉 We reached our North Texas Giving Day goal of $15,000 raised. Thank you to every single one of you who made a donation. We are so grateful for you. Good work, team!
