Said goodbye to miss Goldie today. She was so tired, but she got a nice bath and a pup cup from Starbucks and lots of cookies before she left. I don't think there's any room left for more bandaids on my heart 💔🥺🦋

Our sweet, sweet Dually decided it was time to cross the Bridge and play with his brothers and sisters again. Such a gentle soul and he will be very missed.

Saying goodbye to Nitro today. Have had this boy since he was a baby. Now ill only have his brother and he's slowing down, too. Nitro slept the whole way here, bless his heart. 15 yrs, buddy. We'll see each other again 💔💓💕🥺

Early giving for North Texas Giving Day is now open! Please share and please donate if you can! We have been low on funds for a while now, being very careful how we spend for anything. We need to replace quite a few of the kennel floors, though we don't have as many dogs as we used to. It becomes a safety hazard for the dogs and for us. Thank you so much and God bless!

I'm stressed 😫 took Roly to see the vet last week and his kidneys and heart aren't doing great. Started him on heart meds and I do see an improvement in his breathing....but now I can't get him to eat. He doesn't want actual dood, but is eating things that aren't ok. His wooden floor, the big plastic water tub out in the yard... and then he throws that back up.

So! He has a sonogram appointment tomorrow afternoon. I want to know if we're dealing with cancer that may be causing a blockage, or is it a partial blockage because he's eating things he should not be. With his age, im not hopeful for the latter, but I want to see what's in there.

That dang sonogram is not cheap, either. It used to be 300 or so, now it's 500 😵

Here's a video of the dogs having fun. You can clearly see I'm in the shade, the water bucket is in the shade and Blaze happens to be in the shade as well. I have lots of room for the dogs to run and have a good time and that Hackberry tree provides a ton of shade. There was no reason, other than lack of brain cells, for Blaze to hole herself up in one of our discarded dog houses that was in the sun.. but she's fine. I got her cooled down, she ate her dinner just fine, too.

Don't post here much, cause who actually cares 🤷‍♀️

Maybe I can post Big Bob here, since hardly anyone sees the rescue page. I do not want to hear it about him being an outdoor cat. He is a stray and I am earning his trust so I can get him fixed and vaccinated. He is happy where he is and I have no intentions of containing him unless there's a serious reason. Please just enjoy his beautiful eyes, that was the whole point of taking photos of him and sharing them.

Oh goodness, I got photo crazy with my phone today lol!!! Some of the dogs out playing and the kitties. Getting warmer here in Texas. Not looking forward to it 😕 enjoy the pictures!

Zena has tested negative for Degenerative Myelopathy ^_^ I guess she's just old lol Lady is eating less these days, but still has energy. I just try to give her whatever she wants. She's still a happy girl.

Havent had a lot of time to post anything on here, been so busy with artwork and Christmas orders. We received $49 dollars from the Pitbull Coffee Company! Yay! They have about 12 different rescues they are helping for the next year, including our little shelter, so please share their stuff, buy some coffee if you like coffee...we get some of that profit, too ^_^

Miss Jovi had a great time this evening. Her tummy is so close to being completely healed, just a little bit longer! But I thought she'd enjoy not having the suit and cones on and we played for close to 30 minutes. We finally bit the bullet and decided to burn some of the old wood we have around here. We actually got a lot of stuff into the burn barrel (which is just an old water trough that Luna had) I've always been terrified of burning anything, but it was uneventful. I did get some really awesome photos of the flames that ill post later :D Sir Jethro will be going to see Dr Clary at Animal Hospital of Rowlett soon. He needs to be neutered, however he has always had this cough. Not sick, no nasal discharge, no third eyelid showing, no distress. But he tires very quickly for a 7 month old kitten, to the point of panting, which cats don't normally do. So, I want to make sure we're not dealing with a possible congenital heart issue, or a lung problem, before i try to have him fixed. Its a short procedure, but it could very well kill an otherwise healthy young cat if i don't know there's an underlying disorder. Got the back yard mowed a bit, too. Its growing a lot more slowly now, thank goodness. I thought i heard Kiara bark for her dinner today. It made me smile, but also made me sad. Still miss her very much, there won't ever be another like her. We also got a couple of things this week! A bag of Victor dog food, from Deb Stevens. Thank you so much, Deb!!! And a couple of litter boxes, but there was no note :( thank you so much to whoever sent those! We appreciate it very much!
