Every living thing on this earth has its own language and connections. The way in which humans communicate and canines communicate are vastly different. What if I told you you could say volumes more to your dog by saying less or nothing at all? This may be confusing to you because humans primary way of communication is verbally. Not so with dogs, all of their communication is through body language.

I have been feeding my 4 dogs a raw diet for a couple of months now. Here is how I do it. The BARF diet, an acronym that stands for Bones and Raw Food, or Biologically Appropriate Raw Food. New studies are showing the benifits that adult dogs thrive on an evolutionary diet based on what canines ate before they became domesticated: Raw, meaty bones and vegetable scraps.

I just wanted to send you a quick update since it’s been about six months since Oz came to you. He’s doing great! He has a big group of dog friends, and they all play together at the park across the street from our new home. I still have to supervise greetings, but he plays really well and has no problem ignoring dogs if he doesn’t want to interact. Also, it turns out he LOVES puppies. He flops right onto his back and lets them climb all over him, it’s wonderful. I’ve attached a video below of him playing with his friend Kane today. Thank you so much for everything! The joy of seeing an abused animal come out of her shell and be playful

Introducing our new foster dog, Cocoa! This little buff colored girl Cocoa is an adult Chihuahua mix who weighs about 10 pounds. She would be a wonderful companion for an apartment dweller, she is quiet, cuddly, potty trained, and a great little walker on leash. We are working on her confidence in training here at Artemis Dog Training and she has had huge gains in trusting new environments and people. She wants to be loved and she is incredibly loving to her person giving the best kisses.She jumps effortlessly with those long legs and bear hugs you for comfort. Cocoa just needs a semi-calm environment where she can feel safe and continue to grow. Wonders on Wednesday! This is Reese his fear around new people looked and came out like aggression. Leadership, confidence, and rules helped him to be more relaxed around new people. We keep a muzzle on to help the humans feel more confident and relaxed around him.
