🐾 March is Pet Poison Prevention Month! Did you know that many common medications we use every day can be extremely harmful—or even deadly—to our furry friends? It’s important to stay informed to keep your pets safe!

🚨 Medications that can harm pets include:
💊 Acetaminophen
💊 Ibuprofen
💊 Aspirin
💊 Anti-anxiety meds
💊 ADHD medications
💊 Antidepressants
💊 Sleep aids
💊 Vitamins and supplements
💊 Medicated creams

Accidental overdoses of pet medications are also a common issue. This can happen if:

➡️ Dosages are misread or measured incorrectly.
➡️ Pets are given a double dose by mistake.
➡️ Flavored medications (like chewable tablets or liquids) are left accessible, making them tempting for pets to eat like treats.
➡️ Pets are exposed to another pet’s medications. For example, cats can be severely harmed by permethrin, a common ingredient in dog flea/tick treatments.

🐶🐱 How to keep your pets safe:
1️⃣ Store all medications securely—out of reach and in sealed containers.
2️⃣ Never give your pet human medication without explicit instructions from your veterinarian.
3️⃣ Prevent pets from licking skin after applying medicated creams or solutions.
