The Wythe County Sheriff's Office has received complaints about a new phone scam. The caller is saying you have missed jury duty and you will need to pay a fine or be arrested. They are asking for citizens to purchase cash cards from a local business and provide the numbers on the back of these cards to pay their fines.

This is a scam. Do not provide these scammers any information. We are aware of this scam but if you have any questions please call 276-223-6000

Tip: Most scammers cannot pronounce Wythe County correctly
