Meet our newest rescue Rick Flair. AKA Ricky
He is a Grayson highland 4yr old gelding and is settling in on Dream Maker Farm. And has already stolen our hearts. I’m utterly in love with him. I picked him up in North Carolina yesterday.

Here is some neat information about his breed.
This is a really unique breed with some cool history. These carefree equines are the descendants of 50 Assateague ponies, released into the area in 1975. Spread across 4,822 acres in southwestern Virginia, Grayson Highlands State Park. To control the growth of brush along the mountains bald. In the years since the ponies were released into the bald, the herd has thrived in the scrubby mountainous terrain, and the population now stands at around 150 individuals. To maintain a balance between the ponies and the environment, the Wilburn Ridge Pony Association was established in 1975 to monitor the herd and facilitate an annual auction of any excess colts. The ponies are considered wild because they don't rely on humans for food, water or shelter. However, some people might argue that "semi-wild" is a more accurate term. That's because they're exceptionally friendly to humans.

People always ask me if the animals like going to work. Here is proof. “Mary Poopins” was not going to the event. But she completely disagreed. And stood on the cage until I put her in a carrier and brought her with us.

Happy Easter! Dream Maker Farm's furry friends have been busy past couple weeks. Spreading furry fun and smiles everywhere. We are all ready to hop into spring. 🐰🌷All the chickens and ducks are laying eggs daily again! Summer sunshine ☀️ is around the corner.
