I know everyone is waiting on training and I do apologize for the wait. At this time I’m fighting with the insurance company in regard to being a mobile dog training business. It is not cheap conducting a dog training business that is mobile and train special cases and work with bite cases. I want to make sure my clients and their pets are put first and safety is number one. I want to make it clear, in all of my classes and private sessions I have taught, no dogs or people were ever hurt and it will continue that way. Safety is first priority in my business. It is a business owner and dog trainers responsibility to maintain that safety and professionalism for their clientele, and until I finish this battle with the insurance company classes are on hold.
During this time I will be posting pack walks and CGC test still.

‼️Heads up to our clients and students.‼️
Unfortunately today I sustained a pretty good injury that had to require sutures and has left my lower arm pretty messed up. Some of you may not know this, but I work full time as a Animal Control Officer and train as my secound full time job. Due to this some classes will be restricted and some consultations will be pushed back. I do apologize for this inconvenience but with my arm so torn up I can’t even make a fist and in a lot of pain at this time, so if I needed to use both arms for an emergency situation, I have the possibility of ruining my arm more.
Any questions feel free to reach out to us through messenger.
Happy Friday everyone.

Muzzles, let’s talk.
Not only your pet will thank you, but you will have a peace of mind. Muzzles are very controversial topic for some and a lot of people will go immediately to “oh my god, it’s got a muzzle it must be aggressive!!” No, not every dog wearing a muzzle is aggressive.
At one point or another your dog may have to wear one, lot of vets, groomers, trainers, and also animal control will muzzle a dog for safety especially when there is dog a with hard to read body language, and there are dogs like this. Even if your dog is well trained, they have thresholds and easy to poke buttons a muzzle can be a great tool to introduce. My dogs always ware a muzzle when going to the vet, to keep everyone at peace of mind. Dogs with known history of reactivity, should be introduced into a muzzle, not only for public safety but your dogs safety as well.
When your dog is injured, they are in pain, and a number one communicator is their mouth, a muzzle will reduce their chances of biting while receiving help, transporting to a vet etc.
Basket muzzles are great, this allows for room to open the mouth to pant, drink water, and lick food.
Muzzle topics and training for muzzles will be introduced to our classes, for more info, message us!

As we count down the minutes to 2024, let’s not forget our furry friends at home.
Fireworks are the number one reason pets go missing and run away from home and end up in shelters, or worse deceased.
-We recommend unless you have a 100% solid recall, take your pets out on a leash when you take them potty tonight. And don’t leave them alone while out in the yard tonight. Remember, they hear better than us, those loud booms are louder to them and scary.
-Keep your pet entertained, this is the time to break out the chews, lick mats, kongs, puzzle games. Keep your pets mind off the sounds they may hear from the inside of your home.
-Build a safe space, puppy proof your home. Create your dog if need be.
-Prepare! Play fireworks on your tv, speaker, phone and bring HIGH value treats out and reward for calm behavior. Play gun shot sounds as well. We live in Yakima, where plenty of people like to shoot their guns around these celebrations especially in the county areas.
-Stay calm. Your dog will always feed off your emotions, if you freak out, so will they. Don’t smother your pet either, calm person = calm pets.
-Exercise your pet, research shows a well exercise and well fed pup will be more calmer and more happier.
-Shut the curtains and play the tv, blocking the flashing lights and providing another sound source helps.
-Consult a behavioral specialist or veterinarian if your pet experiences very high anxiety around fireworks.
And as always, be safe and happy holidays.

🎉Let’s give this team a huge round of applause! 🎉
Aurora and her handler Kayleigh earned their American Kennel Club STAR Puppy certificaton!
This team rocked their test, passing with flying colors! 🥳 They have been and continue to work hard, and I know they will accomplish amazing things together! I was very honored to give this team their first exam and have them as NKTs first ever STAR Grad!

NinjaK9Training highly recommends for any working or pet dogs to go through a AKC STAR puppy class as it not only works on appropriate behaviors in public and socialization, but also strengthens the bond between you and your new puppy. These classes are not only fun but educational and great for your pups.

Exposer,
Something that isn’t talked about a lot. From a young age you want to set your dog up for success when it comes to your goals as a team. Fenrir here is exposed to different textures, sounds, smells, lights, people, other dogs, atmospheres, ect.
I don’t place Fenrir on any of these items, he walks himself up, and is rewarded with high value. Once it becomes easy, he gets rewarded with low value.
Never force your dog into something, but make them over come their fear by using lures and reinforcement.
Exposer doesn’t mean to throw your dog into an over crowded mall on Black Friday hoping to socialize them around people by the end of the day, it’s unrealistic.
Instead condition them. People watch from a far, go to Lowe’s in a not so busy isle and throw treats down every time someone walks by the end of the isle, work on watch me/focus, ect.
Also doesn’t mean sit in the store for 3-4 hours. Make it no more then 30-40 minutes and go home, use breakfast or dinner as your reward, sit in the car with the door open and let them eat out of their bowl then go home.
