Sweet Bear crossed the rainbow bridge this morning. He started having multiple seizures a day and his quality of life was no longer there. Please keep Neil in your thoughts and prayers as he maneuvers through this difficult time. Bear was 11.5 years old and just as sweet as could be. He loved to explore the dog park. You will me missed little one. Rip sweet one.

REMINDER! Gum is TOXIC to dogs! Please be respectful and dispose of your gum appropriately into the garbage can. NOT on the ground or on the cement. Read this article - it is a very real scenario. That .25 cent piece of gum that one spits out could end up being a $100 + vet bill for the owner of the dog that eats it.

After a pet dog was killed after eating some chewing gum off the pavement and its owners are distraught.

I feel badly that I am posting this late. But sweet Bella crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge last week. She was only 7 years old and had just had her birthday. Please keep the owner in your prayers for this. Bella was her service animal.

Thank you to Jeff and Keith for putting this up today for us!

Just a few reminders -
please do not try and tie down the edges of the tarp

please do not fiddle with the misters! They are sensitive. I only have one other spare one. To buy these new they are $20 a piece!

do not let your children play on the agility course. The course is for the dogs, not the kids. If something breaks on them it can range from $15 - $600 to fix/replace

do not smoke inside of the park! The sign says "be respectful" that is a nice way of saying "do not smoke" in here. To***co is Toxic to dogs and I do not enjoy having to pick up the "butts" of ci******es. It is bad enough when I have to pick up after your own dogs butt!

I am a volunteer for the dog park, not a paid employee. You to can volunteer for the dog park! A few ways you can contribute are to

1) Rinse out the water bowls and fill them up with cold water.

2) if you are going to fill the pools only put in as much water as you are able to take out on your own as again - if they are dirty, empty them and fill it up again.

3) watch your dog at all times and actually solve a problem. EX: your dog is hu***ng another dog, your dog is jumping on someone, your dog is resource guarding a toy, your dog p**ps, your dog is growling and needs to be pulled away.

4) when someone is entering the dog park - Call your dog back! The entrance should be a quiet setting for the dogs to enter into. It may be cute that your dog likes to "greet" everyone. This can and has called problems as it can escalate into a dog fight.

5) Pick up broken toys. On more than one occasion I have found destroyed balls put back in the ball basket. Really? you couldn't just throw it away? Or a chuck has broken and it was left in the gravel. Again, really?

6) Do not let your dogs into the fenced area of the trees! It is closed off for a reason, not for your dogs to sneak in and eat some grass and p**p. It is sad that it has had to be bungee corded and stuff put in front of it to try and emphasize this. But for some unknown reason people take it down so their dog can get in.

7) it would be very much appreciated that if you see someone's furbaby p**p and no one is getting it - ask whose dog it is and let them know.

8) do not bring food/candy inside of the park. Once again, the sign says "be respectful" that is a nice way of saying "do not bring food/candy" in here. Bringing in these items will draw dogs to you. Some dogs will become aggressive around food and sharing with other dogs. Some dogs will snap at you. Dog parents can be very strict about what their dog is given, some may also have allergies. If food gets dropped on the ground you can guarantee a dog will eat it. If by the off chance it has sat there for awhile, the ants will come or the water will come on and make a mess. There are many foods that are toxic to dogs that I keep finding there. The two I seem to be having the most issues with are people spitting out their gum and sunflower seeds. I do not enjoy having to pick up sunflower shells when you drop them. The shells are toxic to dogs! Feel free to eat at the picnic table outside of the dog park. That is what it is there for.

10) celebrating a dogs birthday is always fun! But again, do not bring food inside of the park. Use the table outside of it and ask people if they would like to come out and get a treat for their dog and enjoy the celebration.

9) help me with fundraisers. Let me know when you are available, and a way to contact you.

I am sure there is a lot more, but that is all I can think of right now.

For those of you that do help out at the dog park and I don't know about, I APPRECIATE YOU!

In order for the park to be at its best - I need people to start stepping up. I can not do this alone.

Please comment "Agree" I would like to see how many people see and read my posts.

If you have an questions, feel free to pm me. Thank you everyone!

I cannot stress enough to be aware of your surroundings. Always have at least one other person with you at all times and don't stay past dusk. This happened last year at Randall Park. It looks like they may be at it again.

I am not very happy. Someone was nice enough to donate bricks to the dog park so we could put them along the fence to prevent the dogs getting out. They weren't there but two days and somebody stole them. If you happen to be that someone please bring them back. No questions asked. Thank you

Who we are and what we do

Hello! Thank you for being a part of our dog friendly community! This page is to keep everyone updated on the progress we are making at our Randall Dog Park. Lots of changes have been taking place for the benefit of our fur babies and humans. We are all VOLUNTEERS dedicating our time as we love our park and in order to keep it as a free admission park, we should be doing our part to maintain it and help get things we request. Like anything, if you use it you should respect it.

We will also be sending out KUDOS to those that do volunteer their time and to the businesses that are stepping up to make our dream requests come true! Without them, we would not have the park at all!

If you have a request or suggestion, please feel free to post or message us. Since we are a community, we all need to have input on things and maybe someone might even have a connection to get that request done. As always, anything that is a major change that we request has to be run by the Parks and Recreation Department.
