Here’s our compulsory pattern!
Thank you Tyler for recording! 📸
Trail course!
Better late then never! Here is our trail pattern.
I knew this gate was going to be a little bit of an issue. When we went to close it instead of my little arms trying to steer and reach for the gate, I figured I’d let cricket close it for me! She pushed her chest into it and helped me out. I knew I’d get points deducted, but thought it was cute!
The banner at the end of the arena was the toughest obstacle there was 😂 She wanted no part of it.
For the bridge, just like Cricket would, she had to test it out a little bit. I love the way she thinks through things! As soon as she realizes it’s safe, it’s not an issue any more.
I had so much fun going through this course. This horse is so honest, and tries so hard!
Thanks Carly for recording 📸
Auction
Here is the video of us in the auction, Cricket showing off some of her tricks! You can see the moment in the end when I realized who bought her! Big thanks to Bob the auctioneer for the nice shout out about for my tattoo business!
Quick trail ride
A nice little ride around the orchards. Cricket is so happy outside! Come see us compete this weekend! Cricket is available for adoption!
Cricket did so well at the trail course. She was a little nervous at the beginning. But after settling in, she did everything I asked. This horse is a big thinker.
Perrydale Trails!
Cricket and I made it out to Perrydale Trails today and she was an absolute rockstar. She went through everything and more! A HUGE thank you to Steve and Marie Rauta for hauling us out! More videos coming soon!
Tarp shakin!
Cricket and I had a great ride the other day! She’s blowing my mind with how quickly she’s starting to put things together. I didn’t think I’d be able to shake a tarp on her back like this a month ago. She’s always excited to work, and is becoming more friendly with strangers!
Picking up feet!
Here’s Cricket showing off picking up her feet! You can even see her picking them up for me as I go around. This mare is so cool, and once she trusts you will try anything for you! Cricket can be particular, and will really need to establish a good connection with someone. I can’t wait to watch her grow!
Cricket!
Riding Cricket has been a dream! When I started her in a bit you could tell she was uncomfortable. I switched to a hackamore and saw Instant results. Here is us working on her jog. She’s getting really good with her stops. I love this mare!
She has so much try and is so responsive. I can’t wait to see what she’s like at the end of this competition!
Cricket is the kind of horse that needs a person. If you’d like to meet her please send me a message!
I never posted anything about the first, but our second ride went great! We’re walking and jogging both directions. She felt great and was so well behaved in the arena while there was fans blowing, music blaring, tractors and quads running.
July 8th, 2024
We hope everyone’s staying cool! Cricket enjoys the rinse off at the end of our work out, even though she won’t show it on camera 😂
In hand pool noodles!
Last night I introduced pool noodles for the first time. Cricket will generally do anything I ask of her, if you let her scope it all out first. She can get a little stressed and want to rush through things, so my goal when introducing something new is to make it boring for her.
One of our biggest issues is her getting stressed with things behind her. So backing her through you can see her start to stress out, but with a quick correction she comes back and gets grounded.
I need to get better at posting, but by the time we’re working on something I forget to set my phone up!
Cricket will be available in Albany this Labor Day Weekend!
