Not my goats but some great advice I saw on another page:

Know your goats.... Learn their normal sounds .. never ever ever let an odd sound or odd behavior go unchecked. Why? Because it can cause them to loose their lives.

We had to dig this one out. But her cry told me something was off and her sisters all acted like the boogie man was after them. Granted they hide things and sometiems we miss things but know your animals.

Also even if they don't seem hurt watch them after a stupid episode for at least 24 hours just.in case.

Here to share a sad but sweet story. We’ve had an older wether and a Pyr together for 6 years. She usually is busy patrolling, but yesterday she stayed with him, let him lean on her, and she licked his face from time to time. We couldn’t find anything specifically wrong with him but she knew something. Towards evening she guided him into her doghouse….unheard of! She slept with him all night. This morning I went to check and she popped out and sat at the entrance. He had passed. She kept him warm and safe the whole time. I think this is truly wonderful.
